Consumer Muds, a new idea?
I'm sure we've all read the Xbox site's new post on the Oddworld history that Xavier reported. It says there are full blown Mudokon consumers. Totally unexpected to me. But I reckon they are probably a new idea. Either that or they are very odd and whacked out.
I mean, back to Rupture Farms, how would Molluck expect them to react when these muds see their buddies in Mudokon pops on the shelves?!? Did Mr. Lanning think of this? I reckon they may have been thought of after the days of AO. I'm jumping the gun a bit I suppose, but it makes me wonder if there's any truth in it. |
Thats itresting because in AE in the news scenes you here a mud in the background. That sounds like a reporter.

Probably the mudokons are not the only consumer species, the "mudokon pops" product could be addressed to another comsumer class other than the mudokons. I beleive that all the species that cohabit the Oddworld megalopolis are comsumers in diferent degrees. I even guess that the mudokons of the cities are a very low status folks, one of the labor force, one of the poor classes of the urban centers.

I dunno, it seems just like a Glukkon, especially one like Molluck, to sell mudokons their own dead as party treats. They specifically gave Soulstorm to Muds, and it said clearly on the back that it was made from their bones. I think that it would be the ultimate adding of insult to injury, when abe finds out that not only have glukkons taken his people as the product and the production, but manipulated them into becoming the paying customers too. Gluks are like complete social parasites- they feed off of Mudokon ignorance at every single oppurtunity. They had centuries to plan it all, and a raging grudge to hold, so why not use subtle psychological warfare for their revenge against the mudokons?
Come to think of it, if Muds are the consumers, it makes you wonder- Yeah, we think of Gluks and Sligs, Vykkers, Interns, and maybe soon Chroniclers as "bad guys", but the mudokons must have done some nasty stuff to them in days long past to warrant so many races rallying together against them. Perhaps, once, the Mudokon and Glukkon roles we know now were reversed, and their really isn't a "good guy" race. Everybody is as capable of injustice as everone else. What a happy message. |
Well, we all know that they got pretty arrogant back when Glukks were spiritual, and the Mud Hand appeared on that moon... I had an idea for a fic about that, but it never saw the light of day...

....why not?

...it's a long, boring, and considerably off-topic story...
