moolah, is it a coin or is it a bill?

I was woundering if moolah is actually a coin or is it a dollar bill. That would be cool if we see a moolah bill with Margrets face on the front. That would be neat.:smokin::fuzblink:

Xavier 03-12-2002 04:20 AM

It's on credit card...

The Shrink 03-12-2002 04:37 AM

Are you sure? I guessed it was on a card of some type, but actual money must exist somewhere. I reckon a bill would look cool, but not neccessarily Lady margaret because she only rules the Magog Cartel. maybe someone (something) huge we haven't seen yet. Like a ruler of Mudos. Ah, I dunno. I got nothing. Card eh?

ODDBODD 03-12-2002 09:34 AM

yep every khanzumer/glukkon/future big stuffs own a moolah card which contains id of person and their credit. Moolah aint made of matter, its made of numbers.

paramiteabe 03-12-2002 11:12 AM

Yea but those # have to represent some kind of stock or calateral. You just can't have a credit card with nothing to back it up. I mean look at the Chroniclers. They are the tax collectors of Oddworld. So there has to be a huge Bank somewhere on Mudos that has all the currency or coins and bills all stocked awey in huge valts. It's just that Glukkens and the rest of the Mogog only cerry around credit cards because they are loaded with cash. They keep the cash with them so they go to the bank like us and put all that money as numbers in a credit card. That makes better sense than just haveing numbers to represent nothing. The numbers have to represent something.

Xavier 03-12-2002 03:06 PM

I readed it in a french interview they are credits cards...

but we never saw the sign of moolah...

Oddsville 03-12-2002 07:29 PM

Moola issue

Actually its both Dollar, Coin, and Credit card. It works just the same way it dose here except your credit card is the thing that lets you deposit and withdraw it from the bank.

Xavier 03-13-2002 10:05 AM

like our sithem on Earth...
with mega banks...
I think they are more coins

paramiteabe 03-13-2002 11:26 AM

Actually here is a fact that I know they have coins. In one of the news paper movies in Munch's Oddyssey they show Lulu surrounded by thousands of coins stacked up on each other. So there you go. there's the proof. So there has to be a bank. You know what would be cool. Abe and Munch have to go to this bank to steal all of the Moolah and throw it in a river. So that the Glukkens will become poor.:fuzblink:  :smokin:

I saw a video (remember I got the game only tomorow) where lulu was sleeping with lot of moolah near him, there where lot of coins, no ?

Sylvia 03-13-2002 06:10 PM

hmmm... I wonder if on the back of the coin, it says "In Odd We Trust". That would be pretty funny!

oddguy 999 03-14-2002 05:36 AM

You people dont seem to understand what money is... Lets take a walk down learning lane...

In fact a note is only werth the paper and ink it is printed on, a coin is only werth the metal it is made of and a credit card is only werth a certain amount of plastic, BUT... These all LEAGLY reppusent a certain amount of good old GOLD and they are all compleatly interexangable with each other...

You see there is only a certain amount of gold in the world and if everybody got their share we would each have a few bits of gold dust as our life saving (can you imagen trying to buy something cheap?!), so we use big chuncks of paper and metal and even virtural credit as a voucher for gold...

Why GOLD?... Well most things could be made or found at huge profit unless the exchange rate was very low, So you would need a lot of that thing to bye something, therefore banks would need to be huge and international trading (which uses actural gold instead of credit) would be hard. Also gold can only be found and moved not made.

So the question should be not wether Mollar is note, coin or credit but what substance or thing it is a voulcher for...:fuzconf:

Shrykullmaster 03-14-2002 11:43 AM

hmmm, i think that moolah is cards, but once u have enuff money on ur card, u can turn i to golden coins. and off topic, but id u no that if wile possessing a gluk in Mo and u look at their health, their Spooce counter is how much moolah u hav

Cloverfield 03-14-2002 01:22 PM

Yes, one of the FMVs in Munch's Oddysee does show piles of coins and also some wads of notes. I do however remember reading back in the PS2 days about ATM machines and even cards, so I think that moolah is like 'money' ... it is just a generic term that is used for such (moolah is also a slang term used for money in some countries for those not aware).

Another possibility is that the actual currency could be something different again taking the above into account. We could find that out in the future.

Abe Babe...

Xavier 03-14-2002 06:19 PM

the signg is an O with a | in it like the dollar (a S with a | in it => $)
You can see it whe humprey say to erwin: more moolah !

Dequibenzo 03-16-2002 03:16 AM

That would make sense, that Moolah is a reprisentation of something, like money is for gold. It would have to be something finite though- maybe Gluk Quarma. Glukkons buy and sell their own souls and the souls of others. That would explain why those little dollar signs fly out of their heads when you use the lulu fund, just like spooce flies out of munch and Abe's heads when they use spooce locks. Or maybe it reprisents something like the skull of another creature, like Wampum was a certain kind of rare shell in native american cultures. Ooh, that could be the subject for a hero down the line- his species is kept rigorously bred and captive by Chroniclers, so as to control to number of skulls out there and not cause inflation/deflation. You could create massive economic collapses by freeing them and giving all the bones a proper buriel at necrum or something. There are huge vaults of skulls out there, and whatever that hero is, there could be a great scene where he walks casually in to the room, looks around, and gets physically ill.

The Shrink 03-16-2002 03:28 AM

What the hell? Where did all that come from? Skulls? Souls? Huh? I reckon it is just like money on Earth and yeah, moolah is a slang term for money in some countries, like here in Aus.

paramiteabe 03-16-2002 03:31 AM

I would like to visit a huge Moolah bank in the next games. That would be cool.

The Shrink 03-16-2002 03:37 AM

SO. Maybe. Chroniclers and all. I can see it happening and it would be cool. I agree.

Xavier 03-16-2002 06:27 AM

yeah a level in a bank with lots of glukkons and chroniclers would be nice

ODDBODD 03-16-2002 11:29 AM

actually its little $ symbols that fly out of a glukkons face  :D

yeah I noticed it just today...
strange

paramiteabe 03-17-2002 03:42 PM

ooooooh what if the Vykkers implanted some kind of credit card implant inside the glukken heads. That will be odd. It could explan the reason why those $ symbols are comeing out of their head. and going into the Lulu fund.

Paramite Pie 03-31-2002 11:00 AM

DUH!

I didn't go through the whole thread so somebody else might of said this....

MOOLAH is slang for money. It isn't an oddworld currency.

It consists of both coins and bills. End of story.

Xavier 03-31-2002 11:10 AM

yeah but on oddworld it must have a sign and a support, what is it ?
