Why kill industrial creatures ... having fun with them the non-violent way!

Okay... everyone's probably going to this is weird... as you all probably like shooting and blowing up and drowning the bad guys. But when I play I like to find non-violent alternatives to eliminate these creatures or get past them (like how Munch's Oddysee was originally meant to be).

Usually this just means dodging them or using the crane to put them in a place where they will not be of harm.

But yesterday, I was playing the Mudokon Fortress level and found a fun and funny way of eliminating (not killing) the Sligs that inhabit the end of that level (near the water that you fill).

You know the two round platforms before the water, there are two shooting Sligs there... so kill these ones by drowning them so you won't get shot. Once they are gone there are only baton Sligs left (apart from one shooter, just possess that one). So get Abe to lead them all to where they can be picked up by the crane. Jump onto the right platform and they stay there for a while. Then see HOW MANY Sligs you can pile onto the left platform. It is quite amusing seeing all these Sligs squashed onto one platform yelling insults at you as you pass.

Does anyone else have any other amusing or fun non-violent ways to eliminate creatures in any of the levels?

Sometimes I play tag your it with the slig. Sometimes it's fun trying to hide from the slig and getting through the area at the same time. One time I was behind the latter in the Splinters Boiler room and I farted the slig woke up and could not find me because I was in the shadow. I then snuck behind him and he did not notice me. haha! Shows how smart they are. It's funny when you are behind a small platform and the slig is on the other side, I keep running in circles and he trys to run back and forth to get me. But I out smart him.

thats amusing abe babe. i enjoy playing the non violent way as well sometimes, it is much more challenging.

i like to sneak behind a slig and pic him up and throw them in a bomb:lol:  its pretty fun but it is violent

One thing that I didn't know before about picking up sligs is that you can pick up sligs knocked out by a snoozer! PIcking them up wakes them, incidentally. Found this out in one of the slog huts.

I reckon there should be more obvious ways of playing non-violently as OWI originally proised because the main way to get through the game is to destroy the industrialists. Non-violent ways are challenging and more satisfying when you conquer them.

definately more challenging. In the scrab herd level, I used to just kill all of them with a slig shooting towards them as he runs away, or with another scrab in attrition for a while, but now I like to lead them all into one of the gated areas and corral them in there. Then, if you're feeling evil, you can pick up munch and chuck him in there like a rat into a komodo dragon display. You can also play cowboy and round up sligs in the mud scrub pens level, if you take the time to jump just right and pick them up.

if you've ever played abe's oddysee there is a little nonviolent thing you can do in the scrabanian temple weel when in one of the last places there is a scrab right above you and you can tell itgetting mad because it can smell you. when you start running you'll keep running with the scrab right at you r heels and if it happens just right you'll the scrab will fall onto a lower platform with another scrab on it and suprisingly the scrabs won't kill each other! I just couldn't understant why it was happening so I just stood there on the platform above the scrab one waiting for them to kill each other an dthe never did cool huh?:smokin: :D

Posses a slig and make it run off a cliff!:D
You can hear it say 'Help!' all the way down and can feel the slig hit the bottom!

AB meant eliminating or having fun with your enemies, without killing or hurting them... Possessing them and making them run off of a cliff kills them, and it's still violent...

I think this is my first post in spoiler...

Wow! Are Sligs really smart AI then, like in Metal Gear Solid!

I thought they'd be all dumb in MO!
Can you REALLY hide in shadows!

Although this topic has drifted off into history, I thought I might bring it back. So far, not everyone seems to have shared their own methods of doing things the non-violent way, and it's possible that everyone's been playing MO so much that they've discovered all non-violent ways of finishing the game.

But I'd like to share a hint in the interest of learning more non-violent paths through the game.

1. Sloghut 1027
When you reach the gauntlet, get Munch down to the Remote Contol, and use the crane to pick up the Sligs and drop them into the container with the bonepowder kegs. When they're all safely locked away, have Abe run through the gauntlet, and Slogs will start chasing him, some of them getting blown up. However, if Abe can entice some into the end chamber, Munch can pick 'em up and drop them in with the Sligs. I've only rescued three Slogs this way, so far.

2. Mudokon Pens
Going back in time, you can avoid killing the first Slig althogether, as well as the two Sligs on platforms. When Munch is controlling the crane, he can pick up the four Sligs and deposit them next to the Bonepowder Kegs.

Also, I haven't tried it, but it might be possible to throw Sligs into that small area filled with SpooceShrubs and a well.

Ultimate Eco-Friendly
Leave all the SpooceShrubs fully grown. It may take a while, but it will certainly make you feel better knowing that you've left a trail of mystical flora for future generations to discover.

1. Even though the guards in MGS were really stupid I think the Sligs in MO surpassed their stupidity.

2. They are. Everything is.

3. I've never found anywhere dark enough. It wasn't mentioned and it wasn't necessary.
