Queens and reproduction

Ok. The queens are a-sexual. That means they reproduce via parthenogenesis (meaning they reproduce with unfertilised eggs). Their young are all drones. Completely biologically similar, if not the same. No sexual organs, no males or females. No genders as such. Though maybe future species will have genders(?).
I think the only reason OWI have made it this way was to avoid the whole concept of sex on Oddworld. They're creating action, adventure video games, not porno movies. The queen concept is a clever and practical way to avoid this.
It also provided a good explanation as to why all the Muds looked the same in AO and AE, which was the question a guy asked and got that answer. I got all this info out of an old playstation mag I remember reading just after AE was released in Australia. So two years ago now. I have known about the queens since.
I have also heard a rumour that there is no Vykker queen and that each Vykker is a hermaphrodite, reproducing the same way as a queen.

I feel slightly obliged to point out that we have no evidence that the queens are Asexual. In fact, they can't be, as Asexuals do not produce sex cells. They may be Hermaphrodites, or they may be Female, but they couldn't be Asexual. I do agree, though, that Lorne simply doesn't want sex on Oddworld. He has already said that he does not want any kind of "Boy-meets-Girl" scenarios in his games, and I think this is just his way of avoiding them...
