YEY!!
Finally a interesting topic!! Drinking...well...alth0 i am on medication due to my drinking 'Problem' (Ugh...wot do Dr's kn0) I find drinking a nice pass time...and interesting. Drugs...well...alth0 i was eager to do Ecstacy at 1st...i am now having 2nd thorts. However...i would do canabis and non-harmful drugs. Ecstacy is faaar to risky now th0...and so is Cocaine. Another thing is i cant stand people who go 'I dont drink cos i want to stay healthy and keep my Liver in good shape' Its so annoying when people say that...cos a couple or so drinks wont harm you...!!

As for other drugs, (the ones that cost ya a fortune) They are awful. Ya gotta be dumstruck stupid to take em! (goes for smoking and the other thing). CoffĂȘ is a drug... (the cafen). Back in the "good old bad days" the police would bust anyone drinking or eating it! (its true!) |
....
2 bottles of Red Wine is nice during the moment...but when throwing up its awful...it clings to the bak of ur throat and makes u vomit more...Eugh...jus' thort id share that

I drink Alcohol. I smoke Cannabis. I haven't touched anything else, and I don't particularly intend to. That more or less covers it...
[Oh, and I've tried Tobacco. Nasty Stuff. Don't do it.] |
I like the spirits, the real strong 1's as for drugs i don't go near.
|
There's nothing wrong with any drug.
My drugs on that shelf over there *points* are to stop my throat from swelling-up, filling with phlegm and suffocating me. I don't mind cafene in chocolate or carbonated beverages, I don't drink coffee because it's yucky though. I don't drink alchohol. I haven't taken anything other than those drugs on my shelf, cafene or what the NHS has given me. I wouldn't mind trying cannabis but I'd prefer not to smoke it. I wouldn't touch anything like heroin though! |

I take caffeine, alcohol, pot and tobacco. |
I the only alcohol(sp?) based stuff I drink is wine...and that is rare (and thats only one glass...period). I very rarely take any sort of meds (can't shallow those darn pills anyway and the liquid and chewable forms taste nasty...). You couldn't PAY me to smoke or take illegal drugs. Nope. Nope. I wouldn't touch them with a 1,000 foot pole.
As for the drug problem (cocine(sp...yeah I know I can't spell worth beans...), LSD, etc)...maybe we should legalize them...then tax the hell out of them :fuzvamp: :fuzvamp: :D |

If cannabis is legalised (which could happen) then poeple who buy cannabis are less likely to be convinced by dealers to try more harmful drugs. As far as I know (which is quite far) cannabis is a LOT less harmful than cigarettes. |

Maybe it won't always be illegal there, maybe GTA3 will be published there. Let's just hope you poor Ausies get a good government at the next election! |
:
GTA3 was actual out for a short time here it came out on ps2 than got banned:mad:  Just cause you smoke weed you don't have to make yourself feel good about it. |

In one way it's hillarious and in another it's really bad. The bad part outwighs the hillarious part... Ausiland is really big and DMA are going to lose loads of royalties from not being able to publish in Ausiland 2. What? I was just saying that it was less harmful than cigarettes. |
Okay, let me clarify this:
Cannabis has no proven long-term side-effects. Any that you are told about are Made Up or simply unsubstantiated. It does have short-term side-effects (imbalance, loss of concentration, relaxation, dry throat) but these effects only last for a short time, after which the user will return to normal. In any case, most of these effects (except for the dry throat) are part of the whole reason people take it in the first place... Clear? It was the short-term side-effects that Tom was referring to. Tobacco, on the other hand, has no short-term effects (except to counteract the effects of Nicotine Addiction), but causes lots of long-term damage (lung cancer, clogged arteries, reduced lung capacity, addiction, nervousness, etc). Plus, Cannabis has been proven to have several benefits. For example, it has been shown to reduce the risk of Throat Cancer, and research is currently under way to see if the same is true of Lung Cancer. It also give users a larger effective lung capacity, by clearing out the gunk left by tobacco, and also because users tend to breathe in more deeply, and get used to doing so. Tobacco, on the other hand, has no benefits. Summary: Cannabis: Some short-term side-effects; No negative long-term side-effects; Some beneficial long-term side-effects. Tobacco: No short-term side-effects; Many negative long-term side-effects; No beneficial long-term side-effects. The choice is yours. Do you smoke one of them, both of them, or neither? My choice is one: Cannabis. Your choice is up to you, but do not criticise me for my decision. |

Surfacing, don't get paranoid... I'm not picking on you, it's just that you seem to have been saying a lot of things I disagree with this week. There's nothing wrong with a good argument now and then... Just don't take it personally. I argue with opinions (and inaccurate facts), not people...

I'd better admit this, really. I wasn't being entirely truthful yesterday. Nothing I said was actually a lie, but I was sort of selective with the truth.
The truth is that Scientific Tests have revealed all kinds of things, but nothing has been shown often enough to be taken as proof. One Laboratory Test says that it causes cancer. Another says it prevents it. Another says it aggravates one sort of cancer while curing another. Another says it has no effect. The list is endless... What is found depends largely on how the tests are conducted. Are they conducted on animals? If so, what animals, and how is the drug administered? If not, how is it done? What purity of cannabis are we talking about here? What kind? Resin/Leaf/Bud/Oil? [These are rhetorical, I'm just demonstrating the huge range of variations the tests can have...] Basically, Scientists will find what they want to find. Virtually nothing has been proven conclusively, either for cannabis or against cannabis. A few years ago, the government was very anti-drug, so the government-funded scientists started "discovering" Cannabis's deadly effects. Now, the government is leaning towards legalisation, so the scientists are now saying it's a wonder-drug. With all these conflicting views, it's hard to know where to turn... My information, therefore, was gained not from scientists, but from the Drug Education people that came into College one time. Instead of relying on Laboratory tests, they'd conducted surveys investigating short-term and long-term users of both Cannabis and Tobacco. They found very little, but found that the rate of cancer in Tobacco smokers was a lot higher than average, but slightly below average in Cannabis Smokers. The difference between Cannabis smokers and non-smokers was so slight that it could be dismissed as a fluke, but they were fairly certain that at least Cannabis didn't cause Cancer... As for the Sperm Count thing, they didn't find anything about that... |
