ARE SLIGS RELATED TO GLUKKONS? the final answer

Since the move from ezboard to the ubb we never really got to finish the arguement on if sligs are related to glukkons.

For alot of you this is crap you never heard of but for a minority it is ancient crap.... here is the loink anyhoos!

Ezboard, sligs related to glukkons

Well as you can see i am totally against it but now that alot of new people have come i wanna know what they think.

MunchOnThis 02-15-2002 11:39 AM

Mmm....

It's possible, since they are both industrial inbaitbiants, but I'm not too whether they are related or not.......That's a good question ODDBODD.:)

1 picture worth 1000 words...

Here's a picture of the octigy family-the family that glukkon speicy is related to.
if you look on octigy 0.1 you will see that there's a big similarity between them and sligs.

Jeez. I had always figured that Sligs were evolved Paramites (the mouth thingies and all), but I had also never heard of "Octigi". I guess I just don't know enough about it all yet... Although, really, the only connection I can see people making from the Octigi to sligs is the lack of legs and mouth tentacles, but a slig's mouth dealies have rigid joints like crab legs, not fluid motion like a squid's tentacles. This would lend me to think that it's paramites again... confusing. WHere do you guys find these images?!

I'm not going to vote untill I see some writen proof.

I think all the tenticals on Oddworld that we have seen look different to each other and move differently... And just because different creatures have tenticals it dosent mean their related to each other.

Parimite tenticals are more fingers then anything and can only open and close, in and out.

Slig tenticals on the other hand have much losser joints able to move side to side at least some extent. They also have what seems to be rigged sections on their tenticals a little like Parimites. Not a huge link though.

The members of the Octgi famly who have tenticals on the other hand do not seem to have any joints in their tenticals like Parimites and Sligs. They have tenticals in the truest sence.

So Im pretly sure that none of these creature are not related closely. But just like on Earth all cretures probly came from the same single celled bactrum or simple animal... ;)

paramites are more closely related to sligs than glukks are

Puhlease Oddbodd, don't prove him wrong. The topic is going to have like 20000000000 messages!!!!!!

Anyways, sligs are sexier than glukkons!:D

Sligs and glukkons might be cousins.

I'm thinking maybe they are, as in a LONG time ago, some creature evolved and "split" and then developed into the differnt species, similar yet some differnence. Look at the sapes of thier heads, the way they have large outer arms and tiny, if not non-existent legs. If you saw that post about the facless slig- look at that and you can't tell me that doesn't remind you just a bit of a member of the Octagi? I dunno, just what I think

paramiteabe 02-19-2002 07:04 PM

Sligs are supose to be like squids. So I think they are defenitly octigi family.

I voted yes, but I'm disappointed with the quality of arguments on both sides here... Obviously debating skills have gone downhill since the good old days on the ezboard, but for crying out loud, there's a thread there full of good arguements both ways!

[j/k, before you all think I'm a total arrogant bastard. Oop, too late...]

Anyway, I can't be bothered to type anything, so just look in that topic to see the reasons for my side of the argument...
