The creatures of Oddworlds oceans and seas.

What creatures lurk in the dark depths of the Oddworld oceans and seas other than Gabbits or the sea rex. You ever wounder about that? Maybe a preditor bigger than a sea rex? Now that would be something! Could there be anouther race other than Gabbits existing in the ocean? That would be cool to see. A race that exist at the very bottom where light doesent penetrait. they could be lumenesant and glow like lanterns under water. Think OWI will make anouther sea dwelling character like Munch? Time will only tell.

Wow good question!!!Do you mean a big fish like on star wars episode 1? :(

paramiteabe 01-03-2002 05:50 PM

Yea something like that with poisonous tenticals and three heads. Now that would be something to look at. And the creatures diet are sea rexes. Very cool! I could see thousands of gabbits hunting these under water monsters with harpoons. ;) :p :) :D

hmmm since the 'sentient' (sp?) species never seem to weild weapons (besides tomahawkers and mudarchers) i doubt gabbits would have harpoons.
And since they eat worryfish...i dunno why they'd go up against a creature that could eat sea rexes...

toxicity 01-03-2002 09:48 PM

I dont know. They might have harpoons.

paramiteabe 01-04-2002 12:30 AM

They are intelligent, they have to have weapons of some type to word off danger. They are definatly not animals. Comeon people there anouther race like Mudokins only under water. You make it sound as if they are wild life. Oddworld is deversed with countless races. Not just Mudokins, Sligs, Vykkers, Interns, and Glukkens. Theres thousands maybe even millions more out there. Just because something looks like a fish and not a humanoid doesent mean it is wildlife it's just a very strange looking being thats all. Yes there are wild life I don't think Lanning wanted Munch or any of the characters of the quintology to be animals. He wanted to explore people of anouther world and he did a superb job in doing so.

no one ever said munch was an animal.
BUT you make it sounds as if Gabbits are great warriors..as of now, they're not.
but since munch is the only gabbit we got to 'know' it's hard to make an assumption on whether or not gabbits are in fact the warriors your trying so hard to make them out to be. Or if they are a simple species, much like Abe and his people.
Why would they need harpoons?
another thing, i really doubt gabbit's have the resources needed to make harpoons, and even if they did, their arms look a little too weak to manipulate any wood or metal.
Now spears i could see, but harpoons?
NO. Spears are possible, although far fetched.
all a gabbit would need is a piecxe of wood, and a shrpened shell or rock.
tie the shell/rock to the end of the wood sith some long grass, or sea weed, and there ya go.

Actually, Gabbits don't live in the ocean. The live in freshwater. There was some interview with OI that confirmed this. There usually aren't many huge preditors in freshwater, simply because there is not enough room and food. I had always thought that the sea rex would be in some part where Munch was in the ocean for some reason (not in his freshwater home) or that the sea rex had been forced into the freshwater. If this were the case, then it would be unlikely for gabbits to hunt them. I think gabbits would probably stick to smaller animals and plants for food. I don't think that gabbits would have weapons; they don't have cities or anything like that (I read this somewhere) and live (I think) more like fully sentient dolphins.

what about octobuks? MO

Lantra 01-12-2002 06:32 PM

octobuks? what does that mean. also i doubt oi will ever have another water creature but mabye in future games there will be underwater levels. that would be kooooool.

moy85 01-14-2002 09:12 AM

in the trailer munch says "there used to be octobaks(sp) but that was before the webs(refering to the nets)"

Disgruntled Intern 01-14-2002 06:04 PM

Just so you know, in the trailer Munch says, "there used to be LOTS OF US" not 'oktobaks'
...

moy85 01-15-2002 09:43 AM

Disgruntled Intern 01-15-2002 05:53 PM

That's just how Munch's voice is...
and it all depends on whether your connected via Broad band or dial up as far as the trailer quality is concerned..

moy85 01-16-2002 10:00 AM

broad band here

Disgruntled Intern 01-16-2002 05:54 PM

hmmm so you have a cable modem?
anyway if your viewing it on 'xbox TV', then select High Quality rather than low.
