Yeah At first when I heard of this I thought it would look like a big thorn in the game but now it's not really a big deal...
I personally drink a Sobe (one from the powerline series, usually Energy) a day. c'mon endorcements!! |
I dunno SoBe... is it good?
I wich I can have a bottle, just to try... So advertising works ? |
sobe has been one of my favorite drinks for about a year. i actually think that the sobe vendos do stick out like a sore thumb, but it doesn't upset me, it just reminds me that i'm playing a game. i would have rather seen a big sobe sign on the title screen than have them as part of the actual gameplay enviroment. but what can you do, huh?

Yeah, it's diffenitely going to be mentioned redundantly by people still angry over Lorne's X Box issue. I personally thought the SoBe machine's were pushn' it as far as selling out goes.
|
There is one thing that I like about those SoBe vendos. When you read about them, it says, "Mmmm Mmmm! Product Placement at its finest!" (Don't worry. It's not literal. It's just your classic Oddworld humor! :D)
|
For the record, just so that you people know, Oddworld actually didn't get any money for putting Sobe in the game. It was a cross promotion type of deal in which Oddworld could get their name out in the open a little bit more. How's THAT for selling out?
|
Yeah I never thought of it as selling out...in fact when most people use that term it's totally incorrect, I mean if you were offered a ton of money or a great opportunity wouldn't you do something commercial? I sure as hell would!!

There were only 2 sobe machines in the entire game. The rest are Health-Ups.
Also there was no Klimb in the game. There was even Klimb in the demo, but it wasn't in the game at all! [ November 22, 2001: Message edited by: RoN_Rancor ] |
