I'm pretty sure glukkons have arms!
I've heard you guys wondering how there's clapping at the auction in MO, well, it's because glukkons do have arms under those suits.
If the image in that topic of the forums didn't clear that up, go play AO again and view the good ending. When Molluck is zapped and his suit falls off, you can see he has two puny arms between his legs. It's just their awkward body structure makes it difficult to wear clothing that makes their arms functional. Maybe such outfits will come in later games. So there you go. Armed gluks. |
Â*Â*Â*Â*Â*Yes Shrink, you are right.. in a way. Take a look at this picture I took while at Oddworld:
Glukkon sculpture In this picture, you can clearly see the Glukkons have arms, but they are used for walking. The only thing they have underneath their suits are vestigial legs and feet. Whether or not these are used practically, I cannot say. |
Aha! Thanks Pilot. I see now. Legs and arms that have "undeveloped". Not used anymore. De-evolved. It makes sense now. Interesting. Hey, that image has a sculpture of the four fingered Abe! Now he only has three. I wonder why? Do you know. All the theories I've heard are just comic phonies.

Â*Â*Â*Â*Â*Yes, I know why Abe now has only three fingers. But instead of retyping it myself, here is a link to Alf's Frequently Asked Questions.
Alf's FAQ |
Thanks Pilot, but I've read that and personally think Alf was just avoiding the question with an extremely odd and long excuse. The mystery remains I guess.
|
Â*Â*Â*Â*Â*In all actuality, that is precisely why they had to make such a drastic change to the Mudokons' anatomy. Four fingers is taboo in Japan, and since this game is distributed in Japan, the change had to be made. Not a real problem if you ask me; I like the three fingered look personally!
|
Oh. Really? No way? That's crazy, but I guess it's believable. Oddworld in Japan? I did not know that. I guess I don't get out enough for such information. Probably because I'm stuck to the ceiling. Thanks Pilot. You are wise.

Astroboy is a Japanese cartoon, yet this picture shows his hand as having four fingers:
http://oddworldian.net/misc/astroboy1.jpg I love the design of the Glukkons: flawless, even with little details such as these that we discover later. |
Yes, Sydney. I looked into this strange cultural significance at one time and apparently it is okay for Japanese based companies to use four-fingered characters, but anybody else must pay Japan "royalties." It's all about moolah. Complete nonsense.
|
did you saw it in MO they reworked all the AO movies to have a 3 figered Abe (and the moon to) pretty special.
and of cource Gluks have legs... |
In MO does it show AO intro first in MO intro?
|
no but there is a option "show me wath happened" like in AE
|
Actually, if uve seen that glukkon evoulutin pic, the glukonn (not the normal one) has arms, there behind his back
|
No, I think that's just the way his/its clothes are made. That pic doesn't in fact show Glukkon evolution (why would they change size so much if it was?); it shows the other members of the Octigi family.
