okay, i'm not picking on you, Osiris, you're just the most recent of many many examples.

everyone. there is a pet shop. you have moolah. it's not difficult to work out that pet shop + moolah = pet. people repeatedly have been just 'finding' their pets. can i point out that that puts me out of business, and defeats the whole purpose of the stat system. the same goes for weapons, and healing [healing should be done by getting some nice refreshing meal in the restaurant, NOT by finding some mysterious healer dude to do it for you].

now, i'm not a big fan of the stats system. to be honest, i think we should scrap the stats altoghether, like Elum recommended at the start. but if we are going to have the stats system, then we HAVE to stick to it. that means that if we want improvements, we pay moolah. otherwise i could just say i found a gun lying on the floor and my stats are now 100AP and 500HP.

[sorry Osiris, i just saw that you have no moolah. this is easy to fix, though. you can get a job in ARAT, which pays 2000m per week. simple. then you can pay for things.]

has everyone got that? it isn't difficult to understand. i don't mean to be the bad guy here, but people [mentioning no names - i think we all know whom i am referring to] have been getting their stats ridiculously high, without once paying for anything.

it has to stop.

Hey, I say we all start over! A new begining, with Grid making a Rules forum on everything from magic to battle to RPGing. I'm gonna dip, this is just all stupidness!

i don't think we should start over, but if we're gonna have rules, we should stick to them. that means: no free improvements.

My thoughts exactly. I found the guy an owner. As for my trombone-sword, if I get a job at ARAt and give you some money to "register" my weapon will you let me off the hook? :confused:

Well I'd like to keep the current stats system but I have to agree that all items & upgrades should be paid for, all these free items certain people are gaining is just plain wrong.

Dakkan, just because you want to start again doesn't mean other people do. Some of us have just learnt to get comfortable with the RPG and don't want to start again, while other experienced participants don't want to lose their stats, weapons, and moolah just because you do. You can't just say "No" and expect to get your way. Even if for some reason we do end up starting fresh, we should ALL start again, not you keeping your "damn money".

osiris - ask grid how much you have to pay for your weapon, he runs weapons.
