movie merchendise.
Hey if Oddworld made a movie what sort of merchendise do you think would be sold at MacDonalds, The Cinerma window and other places?... Do you think they would have small and crappy plactic figgerines or maybe speacial Oddworld foods (-Just like on the movie!-) like SoulStorm Brew? How far do you think it could go considering other CG movies?
:) ;) |
CG movies are becoming more and more popular each day. I think that with a great plot, and Oddwolrd movies would realy kick some booty.
And it would come with the usual Hapy Meal toy and all that crap. Though I would try to get some because Abe or Munch figurine would be realy great. |
they allready make real gabbit juice and soulstorm brew.
Maybe some mudokons pops ice creams: hmmmmmmmm |
They have real Merchandise. In the back part of my Exoddus booklet, there is an ordering number and mail address to order stuff like shirts, stickers, stratagy guides, hats, and posters.

From a really old interview with Lorne Lanning:
Q: There seems to be an anti-industrialisation message within Oddworld. Does this mean Abe won't be seen advertising root beer or beauty products? Lorne: Our licensing philosophy has one rule: don't tell us how to make content or tell our stories. By default, this counts out a lot of products and big corporations. For example, it's okay with us if M*D*****s licenses Abe...but they never will. They won't do it because they will never put a character on their burgers who is an anti-deforestation representative. M*D*****s is supporting the clear cutting of rain forests at a rapid pace, so they wouldn't touch Abe unless they could have have change the story. To which we would tell them to piss off. Our characters all have issues like this. Characters like Mario or Crash are completely consumer product friendly because they don't stand for anything. However, Abe and Munch have some serious issues. Besides, if Oddworld struck up a deal with M*D*****s, I would leave their side and not even think about returning to fandom unless either a) they withdrew the contract before anything happened, or b) M*D*****s stopped being so malevolently evil, wicked and twisted. |
hmmmm cool to know
thanx Max I hope if they do something like selling stuff they don't do only in US or in big countries but evrywhere |
Hey Max do you have a link to the full interview?

I wonder what M*D*****s stands for...
(j/k-I'm not THAT stupid!) |
Most of the Oddworld merchandise that has come out so far is promotional only (apart from the Exoddus stuff). By this I mean that it is used for gaming shows (E3, Game Developers Conference, etc). Or you have to be an Oddworld Inhabitant to get it (i.e. with the SoulStorm Brew bottles).
As for if there is any movie, I'd love to see a huge Oddworld standee promoting the movie. The only trouble is I'd have to hope I get lucky and get to take it home with me. This did happen for the Final Fantasy movie... I was at the last session of screeing in the city, and when it finished I asked about the movie posters (which I got some). Then I jokingly said to the guy "imagine if you could get that display", and he said if I can get it out of the theatre I can have it. So the next day my dad takes us in with the station wagon, but the movie display is so HUGE that it won't fit in the vechile. So here's me, my dad and my mum on one of the main streets of Melbourne dis-assembling this movie display! Crazy stuff! ;) It's now all folded up as it's so huge. But I do have my full size Munch's Oddysee instore display which I got from the US in my room. It's one of my best Oddworld things! Abe Babe... |
