Safe House
 

Spider led Ali and Zander to a large clearing. In the center of it was the busy town of Pyke.
"This is as far as I can take you..." Spider said, then he pointed at a series of huts that were surrounded by a large fence. "See that fenced in area? That's Blue's place. She'll be able to help you...if any other member's of her family answer the gate...tell 'em I sent ya, they know me...but becareful of the sligs patroling about...if they overhear that they'll most likely try to take you in for questionin'. Jus' thought I'd warn ya." Spider lowered his arm, "Hopefully, these sligs work fer someone different then the ones that are after yer..."

" yeah, me too." ali murmered. she then turned to spider and smiled, holding out her hand to shake. " well,i hope we get to meet again sometime."

Spider smiled and took her hand with a paw and shook it.
"Me too, provided things go well fer us both." he said, "Good luck kid."
Spider let go of her hand, backed up a couple of paces...then disappeared into the underbrush, with hardly a sound...

(ooc: *whistles* HEY DH! You are coming up next here!)

(OOC: Maybe they ought to walk up and knock on the gate first. Then I'll post.)

" well, he was an interesting guy." zander commented.

ali nodded in agreement. " yeah. well, we better get in before a slig shows up.

both mudokon and slig looked around before proceeding to the gate and quickly knocking on it.

After a short time, a small door high in the gate opened, and a bandaged blue mudokon head poked out. "Yes?" It said.

ali stood tall, trying not to seem as a threat.

" ah,yeah, i'm kinding looking for a safe place. a drakkic name spider sent me here."

"Spider sent you?" The mudokon asked. "Then come on in." Amphora closes the small door and lets them in through the solid iron gates of the compound. When they walk in, he shuts and locks the gates behind them. "What did Spide send you here for, then?"

" well..." ali started. " we kinda met while me and zand here were on the run from this sligs that been hounding us. needless to say he took care of them. he suggested that this place would be a safe area for us." after a moments thought she extended her hand.

" by the way,i'm ali, he's zander."

"Ah." Amphora says as he shakes Ali's hand. "Well, if you need accomadation we've got it here. You'd have to live in that storage shed over there, though." He points over to a shed coverd in corragated iron. "We'd normally charge you for it, but since you're a friend of Spiders, the shack is on us. You'd have to go find your own food, though." He looks around. "My names is Amphora, BTW. Spider mentioned my daughter, Blue, yes?" Ali and Zander nod. "Well, she's out right now helping out someone. The other people you'll find around here are Orion, my son who has only one leg, Withinhoe, my wife, who is deceased but has chosen to come back as a ghost. Don't ask why. Also we have two lodgers living in the other storage shack. A strange slig called Aura and her mudokon compainion called Jan. Two peeps that were in need of help."

" ghost!?" zander yelped, standing stock still.

" wow, bit crowded" ali murmered,ignoreing zander. " well, in anycase,thanks for the lodgeing."

" ghost!?"

" come on zand, lets go check out our quarters then hunt up some dinner."

"ghost!?"

"would you cut that out?" ali snorted as she grabbed zander by the face tentcles and dragged him towards the shed.

Withinhoe appears next to Amphora.
"New lodgers, I see?" "Yeah." Said Amphora. "Tisk, afraid of ghosts and I'm right behind them." Said Withinhoe. "You know, we ought to set up an inn or something, since Arims doesn't take sligs." Says Amphora. "Good idea, darling." Withinhoe says. "Maybe not now, but it might be worth thinking about in future after someone frees this town from these sligs. How's your wound anyway?" "It's fine." Amphora replies. "Though I'll probably have to have this bangadge on for a while." "If you say so, but be careful though. If it gets infected, go straight to Olms if he's still in operation. . ." Withinhoe says. "Yeah, yeah, I know, I know." Says Amphora. "But I worry about you, dear. . ." Withinhoe says. "I know, but you don't need to make a fuss." Amphora says with a sigh.

ali opened the door of the shed and instatnly begand coughing on the dust that flew from the disturbance.

" deftinely needs cleaning out" ali murmered after she was done nearly coughing a lung out. " this is going to take awhile, why don't you go gather some food for tonight while i work on fixing up this place?"

" why me?" zander protested. he instantly shut up due to alis glare. " never mind"

with that he was heading to the gate, gone.
