Well, that's it. Life as we all know it is over. Times of trouble are over the horizon, and nasty dreams will populate the masses. Yes - my mum is cutting off the phone line.

From the end of the month, ntl will deny us access of our phone line, and because mum caught me downloaded a game demo today, she has threatened not to renew our account.

So, this is the end of Max the Mug at the Oddworld Forums. And, also, of the Oddworld Encyclopedia. And you can throw away any speculation of my website too. You'll never see me on Fan of the Month, or hear another witty reply from me, or listen with fasination to my tales of being abducted by aliens and hearing ghost speak through my computer, or have a razing row with me about why Slig and Glukkon are/aren't related. I shall never again be able to regail you with the story of my very first post at the GT Forums asking what a Greeter was.

And that's that.

For me, it's just as bad. I'm no longer to be known as 'Lugnut' to the Crash Bandicoot fans of online, never to get the latest Mike Oldfield news at tubular.net, or argue with that bloke about matter/anti-matter power plants.

Never again will I be able to do my homework. Mum hasn't figured that out either, so there's still a chance. She also doesn't realise that we won't get email, or be able to use the television. Oh, and guess what, we get cable TV. Mum will never again be able to watch Star Trek: The Next Generation when she gets home from work. Ha ha ha! Revenge is best served when you don't tell the victim what's going on.

So, to the people and things of Oddworld Forums, my friends, I'm handing in my notice, a lot earlier than expected, but I am. I'll still hang around until November, and I'll keep my account open just in case.

And since ntl has a very bizarre idea about when one month end and another begins, I'm saying again:

Goodbye.

Oh my... I'm really sorry to see you go, Max, and I hope your mother changes her mind and you do get your subscription renewed.
You've contributed a lot to this board, and you've been helpful to everyone, polite to newbies, funny, friendly, witty, and just been an all-round good guy.

We'll think of you. The Forums won't be the same without the Oddworld Dictionary.

And think of us, if you ever go by an Internet cafe with some spare change in your pocket and some free time on your hands.

This is so bad! Man, we will miss you! I hope you can go to the Internet café in your free time! I hope we will see you again here someday!

Awwwww. . . Well, i may never have gotten to know you personaly in any chat rooms, but it's a shame to see any forum member go (exect the REALLY annoying ones). I hope you get to stay, and if not, then I'll be missing ya. :( Like TF said, if you come across an internet cafe, and have some cash to spend, remember us here at Oddworld Forums. :)

Speaking about me leaving, I might have to leave for a little bit when my house is being re-done. . . But that's not going to be for quite a while.

Hi, Max. that was a sad story, I feel sorry for ya... but now that you're gonna have more free time, why don't you get a job? hopefully you'll be able to pay for your own phone line. That would be great!

Well, SOMEONE has a strict mom... Cutting the phone line for downloading a game demo? Man, I thought my parents were strict when they said I couldn't play Unreal Tournament when other people were in the room... Why aren't you allowed to download game demos anyway?

Well, I hope she was just having a bad day (a pretty damn bad day, but still...) and she'll change her mind...

That sucks!! And I thought my parents were cruel... they have also threatened me many times with the cutting of the phone line, but for different reasons (The most common one being staying on for a few minutes extra *Rolls eyes* I can't wait until college). Anyhow, 'tis a shame I never got to know ya, Max, but I will miss ya. I know you contributed a lot to the forums and that you loved being here and doing things with yoru site, so I am truly sorry for what is happening to you. Farewell, my friend.

That's a real shame Max, we'll be losing a great member. Is there any way of changing things, as paramite5 5 suggested showing this topic to your mother? Then again, maybe she'll get angry about people calling her strict!
