I'm willing to learn about anything anyone has to say about girls and i can tell alot of people stuff about girls if u ask i can tell I'm not tryin' to say i know everything about girls but i know a hell of alot like i said before just ask and I'll tell

On American grade school playgrounds, "cooties" is synonymous with "girl germs" (or "boy germs" depending on the crowd you hang with). Devastatingly virulent and contagious.

And, cooties, as I might add, are completely fictional. The stubborn and silly belief in them lasts as long as the child thinks love is gross. However, when I believed in cooties, the system went something like this:

Male cooties could only be caught by girls, and were transmitted by boys. Female cooties could only be caught by boys, and were transmitted through girls. If anyone caught cooties, they recited this chant: "Circle, circle, dot, dot. Now I've got my cootie shot." However, if they wished to prolong the effect, they would add "Circle, circle, square, square. Now I've got them everywhere." And, if they wished to further that, they would add "Circle, circle, knife, knife. Now I've got them all my life." The effect of this was an immunity to cooties until you forgot about it. (this was always quite soon)

Nope, you're all partly wrong! In the 40's, the word "cooties" was slang for lice. It was often used during the world war 2, because every one was getting lice, and had to shave their heads... The American army would call them cooties... Then it was changed into some childish word that meant germs coming from the opposite sex.

Well, okay, so at one time, "cooties" were real. But, now since we call lice "lice", then that makes cooties a useless word. That is, until children started using it. (maybe it started with girls because they had long hair. just a thought.) Okay, forget the last sentence. Maybe, the cildren actually used "cooties" to mean "lice", but, the original meaning was eventually forgotten, and started pertaining to everybody, not just people who had lice.

You're correct about the long hair thing... I had completely forgotten about that part. Boys said that girls had cooties, because of their long hair. (lice.. hair) But, yes, it did turn into some lame thing that meant (fake) germs from the opposite sex...

Seriously, although it makes no difference to me, doing that would probably make things a lot easier for you...
