Did you know that there is a Burger Queen out there!
Well two years ago I took a vacation to Gibralter and I was walking through these out door shopes you know. Well I saw a Burger Queen. I was like thats different. So I went in to try it out and to my surprise the food was just like Burger King. I think it is the only Burger queen in the world that I know of. Odd ha?

I'm not surprised. I saw a California Fried Chicken store in a series on Indonesia, if my memory serves me. Poorer countries tend to be rife with 'imitation' stores and stuff. Who knows? Maybe they have a McDougal's in Nigeria.

There's a 'Kitchner Fried Chicken' where I live.

In Australia, Burger King is called "Hungry Jacks". The food is exactly the same, Whoppers, etc (as I have been to the US so know the two).
It happened because when Burger King was going to bring it stores out to Australia, someone must have heard about it and registered the name to stop them coming out here. But instead, Burger King changed their name, but used the same logos and menu. Funny thing is that they used to promote Hungry Jacks as being 100% Australian! There was only allowed to be Burger King in the International airports. Now many of the Hungry Jacks are being re-named to Burger King. I guess whoever registered the name here, finally let it drop after all these years. Either that or sold it to US Burger King for lots of money. Abe Babe... |
I doubt it was a franchise.
