Spooky Painting

http://www.whattheheck.com/ebay/scary.html

Background info on the painting...

Apparently a couple found this painting abandoned in a warehouse, and brought it home.

Their young daughter would complain of hearing young children fighting and crying when she was sometimes near it.

They set up a motion camera facing the painting one night and it apparently took some strange photos.

People who view it on their computers have reported strange occurances happening as they do.

People are warned not to set the painting as wallpaper, nor should they show it to young children.

The couple sold the painting on ebay and made a small fortune.

Now that's some messed up stuff right there.
Who'd want that in their house?!
I'm not putting it on my wallpaper. Some one else do it.

Wil 01-31-2002 05:04 PM

Being the Believer that I am, I'm not gonna visit that lil' piccie. No way. My last CPU got haunted (as some older Forum members may remember), and I'm not gonna let it happen again.

However, I's curious. What's the picture of?

And no one dare post the picture on these Forums!! :fuzmad: :fuzmad: I'm deadly serious.

Fazerina 01-31-2002 05:09 PM

Okey.. :D There was this little boy and some creepy doll in the painting. The girl was holding something that looked like a dummy (dummy is something which is used in training dogs..) and there were some hands behind them. There were different pics tooken from the painting and in one of them the doll was holding a gun. There..

Danny 01-31-2002 07:14 PM

I'm also a Believer in this kind of thing, but I've never been cursed before, so it should be interesting... *looks*

Shinjara 01-31-2002 07:22 PM

Hmm..well i looked at it and i did feel a little bit freaked out by it...But no major impact i suppose..

Nothing happens. See, most games would just give you a generic responce when you try something usless like that, but we've custom tailored this responce exactly for you.

*Yells* BORING!!! I've seen freakier things then that! I'm kind of disappointed in a way, because I expected something better.

it's definitly a differnt kind of painting but i wouldn't call it freaky and the stories about it r probably made up i honistly don't believe about super natural stuff

Disgruntled Intern 01-31-2002 10:12 PM

Hmm..
the rock station i listen to talked about this in the daily 'freak news' a bout a year or two ago...very interesting. i set it as my wallpaper...not because i don't believe, but because i'm some what interested to see if anything happens.
oh, i figured i might as well throw in my moms opinion too...she thinks it was nothing more than a clever marketing scheme, and the pics were touched up....i mean when you think about it, even if the painting was possessed, what harm could come from a picture of that painting?
hmmm that's my mom's opinion...

Surfacing 02-01-2002 11:07 AM

It's just 2 children, what's so spooky about that.? It's art nothing to be afraid of or they could be dolls the girl is defiantly is.But if what u said is true about ppl hearing things from the painting than yes it is spooky but just from looking at it, i think it's fine.

Surfacing 02-02-2002 02:07 AM

I have now set the painting as my new back ground it has been my background over 24 hours now and nothing has happened, i actual really don't mind this painting infact i would'nt mind it hanging on my wall, to bad it's already sold.

Shrykullmaster 02-02-2002 06:51 PM

Capri Ream 02-03-2002 04:34 AM

THat painting freaks me out! OMIGOD! I would hate that in my house because I would cry and scream from fear of it! There is no way that thing is becoming wallpaper on my computer! Besides I have just watched The Amityville Horror twice and Rose Red so I am SO tottally freaked out by scary things right now. Creepy painting *shudders vigorly from fear*

oddite4456 02-04-2002 01:30 AM

I have to admit, I am somewhat creeped out by it because it won't load.(lol- maybe my computer's scared) My uncle's friend paints stuff like that.

munchman 02-04-2002 07:52 PM

thanks i like that kind of stuff, has any one put it for wall paper yet? lol

Surfacing 02-05-2002 01:05 AM

Munchman, have u read the previous reply's? i have had it as my background now for about 4 days and still nothing has happened i really want something tho happen.

abe22 02-05-2002 03:27 AM

*Is laughing* Them pictures are hilarious I can't stop laughing they're just so funny. How could anyone be afraid of that it's funny. It's just a boy with a stupid doll does anyone know where I can get this painting I like it, it's cool.

Yachiro 02-06-2002 10:13 PM

I also have to admit...

These pictures were infact, frightening. So frightening to some, infact, that they believed the picture was doing things to them. However, these ppl were either making it up or just seriously frightening themselves. This is to clarify that haunted things cannot exist,period.Well..maybe in Oddworld, but those who DO believe...
Ask yourself this:Are you easily taken, afraid of that you don't see,or just plain freaked out to the point of doing strange things?Ask yourself. You probably already know the answer, just don't get freaked out. :dodgy:

sligface202 02-06-2002 10:24 PM

i agree with u guys (Abe22 and Yachiro)

Statikk HDM 02-07-2002 07:36 PM

Is it true that in great britain that white cats are bad luck and that black ones are good luck. I don't know where I read that so it's probably wrong.

I don't think the Black Cat superstition is peculiar to England...

Either way, White Cats mean nothing at all. Black Cats are either Lucky or Unlucky, depending on who you ask...

I've always found them Lucky myself. As a bonus, they're sooooooooo cute as well... :D

Yachiro 02-07-2002 09:05 PM

Doods.

Something has cropped up,on the subject on the "spooky painting".I'ma make this short..
For those who STILL believe the painting is haunted, read the auctioners notes,at the bottom."For amusement",or something.
