What amusement park is near you?

I live an hour and a half from Cedar Point and I also live 40 minutes from Six Flags Worlds Of Adventure. It's like all these places are in my back yard. I think thats pretty cool. Are there theme parks near you?

We've got these two big amusement parks in Finland: Särkänniemi in Tampere and Linnanmäki in Helsinki. They're kinda far coz you have to drive about 2 hours from Turku to Tampere and 3 hours to Helsinki.. Then there are a lot of smaller ones, but those are the main ones. We don't really have anything here in Turku.. :( Well the Moomin Land is near, in Naantali. :D Though I haven't ever visited it but that would be cool.. :) I have to go there with my sister's twins someday when they've grown up. They are now just one year and three months old.. So I have to wait for a while for them to understand something about the moomins.

i'm about 3 hours out of lego-land, and about 4 hours out of six flags California, and Disney land, and Disney land 'california adventure'...plus an hour away from 'the island' (KILLER water park!) also blackbeards, wild water adventures and a few paint ball places..

My nearest amusment park is Peter Pans Adventure Island in Southend, a nearby sea-side town. It's kind of small, but it's jam packed full of rides. I think it holds the record for the most rides in a small space. The longest pleasure peir in the world also bridges the middle of it. There are several more theme parks around, but Peter Pans is the closest one. The rest are kind of far away.

Wow thats cool guys. Cedar Point holds the record of the most coasters in the world. I believe it has 15 of the largest coasters in the world. Here is a list of the names.
1. Magnum XL200
2. Woodstock Express
3. Whicked Twister
4. Meanstreak
5. Gemini
6. Jr Gemini
7. Blue Streak
8. Mine Ride
9. Iron Dragon
10. Wild Cat
11. Mantis
12. Raptor
13. Desaster Transport
14. Corkscrew
15. lastly the one and only that made several world records for speed and hight The Milleneum Force. This monster is 310 ft high and drops at an 80 degree angle and moves at 94 mph. It's the first coaster to use an elevator lift for the train to move up the hill. It takes about 10 seconds to get to the top of this thing. So you have no time to think about whats happening. Mann when I was at the top of this coaster I saw all the way across lake Erie right into Canada. That is high! Imagine standing at the top of the statue of Lyberty and looking almost straight down. That is what kind of coasters Cedar Point has. It is the best coaster I have ever been on in my untire life. If you want to see a little bit on what Cedar Point is go to www.cedarpoint.com You will get some cool info and pictures.

The only 1 we have here in melbourne is Luna park, but it sucks all the rides r old and about to fall apart.

SeaRex 01-26-2002 06:17 PM

Oh! Oh! I forgot! I've also got Dolly Wood Splash Country! The only country music themed water park in the world! Double Boo-Yah!

Fazerina 01-26-2002 08:40 PM

Country music themed water park...? Well, whatever.. :D

Cloverfield 01-28-2002 10:32 AM

As Surfacing said, Melbourne only has a really crappy old theme park called Luna Park. In fact, I wouldn't even call it a theme park, it's so small!!!

I love rollercoasters, and the only way I can go on one is if I go interstate or to America.

What's worse, is that people keep promising Melbourne will get a theme park, but we never do. I've heard them all, from the Australian DisneyLand, to a movie and Star Trek based theme park in the Docklands area of Melbourne. None ever come through.

Well, I never said it was the best, as there are NO good forms of country music. Not in water park form, not in any form. As for that whole "in the world" thing I said, I was just making my theme parks seem more pitiful.

Fazerina 01-28-2002 07:59 PM

You don't really have to.
