antibiotics

leaf cutter ants have been using antibiotics for at least 70 million years before us and it works alot better than ours(they carry around bacteria which constantly evolve to destroy bacteria harmful to the fungus where as we use chemicals that the bacterias use so the harmful bacteria adapt but the chemicals can't). just something to think about.

Steve 12-25-2001 11:44 PM

well since no one seems to care about that *sniff* I'll give you something else to think about. If the big bang theory is true then every thing came from nothing therefor everything is nothing and nothing is everything. things exist, this is impossible yet happens (for all I know) therefor impossibility itself is impossible and every thing else is possible. I'm probably wrong but if I'm right this works for religious beginings too.

PinkHaired Mudokon CWR 12-25-2001 11:49 PM

The Big Bang sounds like something that some dude just made up in order to be famous.

Gluk Schmuck 12-26-2001 12:04 PM

And what do you belive in? The Earth being MADE in 7 days?

*goes into a giggle-fit*

The whole Bible sounds like someting some dude made-up to faschistly control the population of the world.

...back to the subject...
Yes, that's a very interesting thing about ants...
And the big-bang theory is a lot more likely that what I would assume Pinky belives in. I don't fully undestand it, but then I wouldn't because I'm not omnipotent...

Yeah, I do believe that the Earth was made in 7 days. Well atleast it makes sense.

Ahha! You can't make your own insults so you had to re-make my sentence on some dude making the evolution theory to make you an insult from it! Ahaha!

I mean, the big bang is saying that we just got on this earth just like that, not knowing where we came from. If the star exploded, who make the stars or the particles? They need producers in order to start something.

If you don't understand the big bang, then what do you believe mr. smarty pants?

Steve 12-26-2001 05:51 PM

please don't turn this into a religious debate I was just stating that everything is scientificly possible. (then again everything that happens is a theory but I won't go into that)

Danny 12-26-2001 06:34 PM

Pinky, I have explained the Big Bang Theory to you at least twice before, so why do you persist in being ignorant? Both times when I explained it before were in answer to you asking "Where do the stars/planets/molecules come from?", but what is the point in me answering you if you're not even going to bother reading it? This is the problem with you, Pinky, you never listen to anything that might prove you wrong, just in case it does...

Joe the Intern 12-26-2001 06:43 PM

Pinky, if everything had to come from somewhere, where did God come from, then? It's okay for God to magically pop up, but not for the Universe?

Its' all 'BALONY'.... GOD made all creations
And Steves' First post is really cool and maybe true

Excuse me...but it is my belief that a 'god' would need SOMETHING to work with. No one can create something out of nothing. Therefore...a god is NOTHING but a figment of our imagination!

Demonakos: I resent that!

Oh hush you...

•[cyrus]• 12-26-2001 06:56 PM

Fine... belive what you want, but you'll NEVER change my mind :o

1. Not to me, it doesn't.
2. That's what I intended to do. Ahh well, you didn't get my subtle humour.
3. Are you discussing where 'we' came from or the Big Bang?
4. I understand it, not fully though.

Well, it's a thin line between evolutionist and creationist. Besides, think about it, God. Duh! Means all knowing, divine, omniscient. But as particles and molecules are concern, it makes it confusing.

And Joe, I thought you were christian. What do you believe in anyways?

DarkHoodness 12-26-2001 08:52 PM

Pinky, do I dectect a tear of frustration? Is everyone laughing at you?

Well, where to begin...?

1. Yes, I do listen to you. Ask me any question about your beliefs, and I will answer it as best I can. Any Question...

2. Creationism and Evolutionism are totally different. For a start, there is evidence supporting Evolution. Also, Evolution makes sense. Creationism, on the other hand, depends on Blind Faith and suspension of disbelief.

3. Learn Spelling and Grammar, please. It will make shooting your arguments out of the sky so much more enjoyable...

1. no you don't

2, I already know they are two different things. Evolution sounds made up and stupid. Creationism is nothing about blind faith. You don't know what your talking about.

3. Why don't you learn good ettiquette grammar and spelling so you can learn how to be more like a gentleman so you won't sound like an arrogant blabbling bimbo!

Steve 12-26-2001 09:08 PM

STOP BICKERING. well thats about all I have to say.

2. Sorry, WHAT was that about Evolution not making sense? Do you want me to answer that now or stop laughing first?

3. Well, I don't see how you can know anything about my etiquette, and I challenge you to find a single spelling or grammar mistake that I have made in this topic... Insults, by the way, are the last refuge of those with nothing else to say...

Sydney 12-26-2001 09:37 PM

I don't think anything will come of this argument. We all know by now that Pinkhaired will stick to her faith even if it was proven without a doubt that God does not exist (don't jump me, it was for the sake of the discussion). No matter how many perfectly constructed points are laid out before her, she will continue to reject them; her faith is rock-solid.

The facts are:
  • Evolution is the process that results in the diversity of life
  • Pinkhaired is a fundamentalist Christian
  • Pinkhaired will never, ever change her beliefs

But don't let that stop you enjoying the discussion. I must just request that nobody insult each other. One more thing: arguing about arguing is a dull read.

Regarding the big bang, I know the basic premises of the theory, but I'm ignorant of the details. I know it proposes that all matter was once compressed into a tiny point, and suddenly it expanded, which it is still doing to this day. But I don't know how or why. Can someone with knowledge care to expain it?

I'm not insulting you, I'm just laughing at you because you sound weird to me right now.

And don't say that I need to learn spelling and grammar. If I do, then you would not understand me! And besides, I have made it in National Honor Society in English, Math, and Science and that's a great honor so you cannot tell me about grammar and spelling.

And your saying that I think that evolution is confusing? *Laughs hard*, you the one who thinks creationism is confusing. I can disagree on evolution. It's just does'nt sound right to me. Don't attack me just because I said that. ;)

Danny 12-26-2001 09:49 PM

Pinky, you heard Sydney, just drop it...

PinkHaired Mudokon CWR 12-26-2001 09:50 PM

You mean, I seen sydney's writing. In any case alright fine let's drop it.

The first post on steve was interesting.

Joe the Intern 12-27-2001 02:39 AM

1. I have thought about it. Being non-religious makes more sense. I think you are afraid of being non-religious because of your fear of going to Hell.

2.
:

I seen what sydney said.
What was that you were saying about National Honors Grammar?

Statikk HDM 12-27-2001 05:22 PM

God created the universe ex nihilo, out of nothing. and to say that creationism is just based on blind faith and that the THEORY of evolution is true is one of the most proposterous things I've ever heard of!. Evolution would require an unchanging and static world which doesn't exsist. Primordial cells are just sitting somewhere for billions of years, n ot effected by nature, and after all that time all you get is a one celled organism!
the amount of things that would have to happen ina series is absolutly astounding! And why arn't there solid fossil records showing evolution happening! A mutation would most likely be detrimental. Why do creatures so well adapted to there surroundings become extinct? And why do the peope who believe in evolution think what they believe is true? Because it's so logical? Or maybe they just want to believe a lie to deny accountability to God! You know what i mean"God doesn't exsist, so even though I'm sinful and should be punished I don't have to fear anything" Evolution is contrary to the bible. you can't believe evolution and believe in god. You can't just pick and choose what parts of the bible you like, and what parts to ignore because you thinkk they are"wrong"and "homophobic" and "not scientific".

PinkHaired Mudokon CWR 12-27-2001 05:31 PM

Yeah i know Stat, why is that?

Statikk HDM 12-27-2001 05:38 PM

People who believe in things contrary to the bible and say that they are still true christians, you say you are a christian but when was the last time you gave thanks to god and really thought about what god gave you? Prayed?Went to church or at least read the bible? And all you people who say you're chrisians, but don't believe in evolution, or that Jesus was and is true God and came to take away all sins, in the resurrection, that homosexuality is wrong and sinful, and a whole host of other things that the bible says , are you really believers? Or are you just hypocrites and phonies who try to look like believers? Why believe in things contrary to the bible? Sure, some theory might look logical and scientific, but the truth is, if its contrary to the bible it's nothing buth the blathering of some false prophet! Believe in god,and all he says, and leave "theories" to the damned.

PinkHaired Mudokon CWR 12-27-2001 05:46 PM

I'm a true Christian. I read my bible, attend church, tithe, pray, give thanks and try my best to be right and do whatever to please him. I'm not perfect. Nobody is. Atleast I try. Even though there are some sins in the bible that God detest, I have nothing against people who are homosexual or anything. Are you a christian Statikk?

Your right on the Theories though.

Statikk HDM 12-27-2001 08:41 PM

Yes, I am. But God says that homosexuality is a sin. If someone isn't straight, and they keep on breaking the sixth commandment, god will just say enough already and he'll give the people what they want: A life leading to unbelief, and then it will ultimately lead to hell Don't say i'm homophobic and intolerate, talk to god about his beliefs, which I just said on this message board many times: God will not tolerate homosexuality. I'm sorry if you thought I was accusing you of not being a christian, I didn't mean that at all.
