Ultimate info about the Almighty Raisin

Hello, there!

I'm starting this topic about the Almighty Raisin because I'd like to know all your thought about this character and what kind of role he will have in Munch's Oddysee overall plot.

I suppose he is going to act like Big Face did in Abe's Oddysee and the Weirdos in Abe's Exoddus, as a spiritual guide.

Post your impressions, comments, pictures, whatever you find out about The Almighty Raisin here.

Looks like a huge bowling ball. don't like him, yet. I'll learn to like him, her, or it when I know more of it. So extra comment, pictures and so could help me too.

There's not too much known about the Almighty Raisin... however this is what I have on Oddworld-Web based on the information that I have found.

An ancient tree creature, Almighty Raisin has lived in a time of long ago on Oddworld. A time where there was no corporate industry, a time where the people of Oddworld did not have demanding and hearty appetites. A time where there were even more odd creatures than there are today. These were the days of simple living, conflicts that could easily be sorted out, where the main issue for a creature was surviving their place in the food chain.

Almighty Raisin is a prophet, retired strategic, spiritual advisor and tongue reader. Gone are the days where he used to advise tribal chiefs throughout Oddworld. Not just the Mudokons, but other Oddworldian tribes too.

But today the Almighty Raisin can be found on a dump somewhere... but we will learn more about that in Munch's Oddysee.

I'm sure we will learn more one day, especially after Munch is released and we find out more information on a lot of creatures.

Abe Babe...

Wow, that's very interesting. I think the Raisin's role is to be a great spiritual advisor and wise know-it-all who can predict the future and junk like that.

globe90 07-03-2001 03:48 PM

Well, it's been said that MO will be a linear game in non-linear sections; perhaps Raisin directs the player on how to advance the game, or acts as a hint factory (a la Robotrek and Earthbound)?
Just a thought. It doesn't really matter what his role is, 'cause he's cool. QED.

MrBoj 07-03-2001 09:07 PM

if there is an Almighty Raisin, is there a lesser Raisin? the Almighty Raisin will probably give advise much like BigFace and the Weiirdos, but who knows, maybe it will serve another purpose.

Hey, just to let you know, a lot of the fansites are great, yet the prime source of character info, sketches and CGs can be found at none other than oddworld.com the info on the Almighty Raisin is there.

Lantra 07-04-2001 06:10 PM

the almighty raisin rocks. he acts as spiritual guide to munch and abe. he has taken over big faces position as teacher because big face has taught abe all he knows.

freakyLA 07-04-2001 06:30 PM

Big rface hasb tought Abe all he knows? That wouldn´t be much.
Well I think it has a role like the grandmother, or something in farytales. He knows everything and addes good advices.

Zoolag 07-07-2001 04:37 PM

The most likely thing Raisin will probably do will translate Munch's native tongue for Abe. It will probably be like a AO thing, where i am sure you can remember Abe could not speak due to the fact that the Glukkons feared him due to his colour and thus stitched up his lips so he could not commune with any other Mud's. But Big Face (Or sumat else mystical) gave him the power to speak. That will probably be what Raisin does, give Munch a voice that Abe and others can understand, cos Munch's actual voice is like a whistle. Also i can guarantee that Raisin will probably say a few jokes and witty remarks in it...that only certain peeps would get.

Dakkan Blackblade 07-07-2001 05:33 PM

All these things sound about right to me!

PinkHaired Mudokon CWR 07-10-2001 04:24 PM

Take off Bigface mask!! Yeah! Let's rebel!!!

Here's my Almighty Raisin page at Oddworldian.

I don't really know any other details about it on top of what has already been said. I just think Raisin is a pretty cool character. He's (is that the right pronoun?) like a tree, with textured skin and roots coming out of its' body.

I imagine Raisin's voice as being loud, deep and hollow sounding. A giant raisin. I wonder if the Glukkons have ever tried to chop him up for a delicious raisin snack product?

PinkHaired Mudokon CWR 07-11-2001 10:18 PM

He probably can't talk because he's too fat and expects every mudokon to give him food everytime they want something :D :D :D
