How do you feel about this?

The above is an article about creating human-animal hybrids.

How do you feel about such things? Do you think it's a daring leap forward in the field of science? Is it totally pointless? Is is ethically wrong? Do you think it's too close to 'playing God' and that humans have no right to do these things?

Thoughts please.

I'm not sure how reliable that article is, but it's a pretty damned sick concept. I can see the benefits of cloning, even if I don't support it, but even their justification of how this process could be useful seems disgusting.

It's a really interesting topic and I don't really know how I feel about it. I remember reading an article in an Australian newspaper a few months ago about the human/pig hybrids being destroyed. Imagine what they would be like if they were allowed to continue into fully developed organisms.

Personally, I can imagine what people's reactions would be. Shock, horror and repulsion. That's why I don't think they should create human and animal hybrids. To what extent will the creatures be human? They will have emotions much like us, so they should be treated like us. They'd feel like freaks. If hybrids were ever to be made, they should be treated with most respect.

I don't agree with it. It's not meant to be and is meddling in nature, creation, evolution (whatever your stance is on that).

It sounds like something out of a science fiction movie (or actually something out of Vykkers Labs). Human genetic structure isn't the same as that of animals (at least not in the exact sense). I cannot see how a creature like that would survive.
