Clones: Multiple Usernames
 

Just a quick reminder of the fourth rule. It says that clones are not allowed. There has been quite a few deceptive users lately signing up with new accounts and pretending to be new people. I know that Oddworld news is kind of slow at the moment and it is tempting to get silly, but please don't. Not at the expense of the forums.

This is a waste of time and bandwidth, and it's annoying. I'm not naming any names, but those who are doing it: please stop.

Sydney,just in case you think i am using clones, it is because Lady elum is my sister and she registered with me. Also Abenater is my freind Adam,who also registered at my house.

I didn't mean you, don't worry. The people who are doing it know well who they are.

As a trial we have also implimented email verification to sign up to the forums.

Previously, it was just required that a unique email address was required, but didn't need to be verified. Therefore people could use a fake email address. We have now made it that a user's email address is verified and their initial password (which they can change later) is emailed to them. This then gives them access to the forums.
