Anyone who has seen Neon Genesis Evangelion must certainly agree with me that its one of the best Anime's ever, if ya haven't seen it then I recommend you do cause it got 3 awards for best Japanese Cartoon. Heres a picture of the famous mecha in the series, called Eva unit 01:

Yeah, it's definitely one of the best I've seen. Bubblegum Crisis 2040 is similar, but not as good.

It's just the ending to Neon Genesis that drives me nuts - especially since I can't get a copy of the subtitled movies here in Australia!

Yeah, I gotta agree that even after seening the first ten hours of episodes, Evangelion encorporates a lot of the stuff that makes a good anime- and a good movie. Characters have depth, yet maintain their comedy, and while i still have no idea what the angels ARE, it's intruging to fing out as much as possible- and see what crazy thing is comming next. who'd have thought a flying brick could be intimidating. Gotta say that the scariest so far was that huuuuge spider thing.......
Bubblegum crisis is good too- have you guys seen the origional Dominion Tank Police- seriously wierd!

i dunno if its the best...akira stacks up prietty high on MY list

Have you read the Akira comics(graphic novels being reprinted)- they add so much more into the origional plot lines. The clowns become pretty cooland the amount of detail on the inking is amazing!

My friend has both the Limited Edition AKIRA DVD, but he also has all of the Akira Mangas. He says the manga's are so much better than the movie (though he loves the film, he says the manga's are unbelievably great). I, myself, enjoy Neon Genesis Evangelion (though I have only seen six episodes) and my friends and I have been watching Martian Successor Nadesico as of late.

Yeah..EVA is one of the best!
But i think the Neon Genesis series have a ugly drawstil!( Sorry )
But the story, Artbooks or the mangas are very good!
They have very beautiful pics!

Well anybody in australia who has got austar should watch this show called gundam wing. It's got robots in it like that one you's guys are talking about. It is on Saturday at 7.30 PM and Sunday at 4.30 PM.

I find RG Veda, Plastic Little and Record of Lodoss War have a very beautiful draw stil!

Tenci's a little odd, and kinda unfufilling in a way..the episodes seem a little disjointed to me. But heck, I'm no expert!
Perfect Blue has gotta be in my top ten- it's strange, but pretty cool, once you've worked out what's going on!
Does any one else think the transformers movie is one of the best movies ever?

And I also like Magic Rayearth! It's dabomb! Does anyone have toonami? That's an anime channel.

Hmmm my topic has been grabed, poked, chewed spun around, and spat out again. Favorite animes should be the title now. Oh well beside eva I'de have to say the movie Akira is the best.

I also like the series called The Guyver, its based on an old movie called Mutronics. The plot is fairly good, but the characters should have been better thought up. Here's a pic of the main character first appearing in the series:

Gundam wing sucks. You heard the voice acting? Tenchi aint bad though!

Gundam Wing does not suck sexy slig, which I doubt any slig would be sexy in the first place! LOL. There are different kinds of Gundam WIngs. I like the series with DUo, Wufei, Troa, Heero and others :D

Seriously, I have a big tupperware container filled to the brim and beyond with anime tapes. As a matter of fact, I have the entire Evangelion series on tapes!!!

You may have the entire evangelion series, but do you have the 3 evangelion movies?..... no, HA HA I didn't think so.

Speaking of movies, I know no-one here likes dragonball, Z, or GT but there are 15 dragonball movies, but only 2 are dubbed in english so far.

I might as well say something about the 3 movies while I'm typing.
The Evangelion series, was really good. Everyone liked it, but the ending... man was everyone pissed, basically there was no ending. The series just stopped, so Gainax descided to make a movie, then another and finally another.

Anyone here who was really in to eva should know that at the end of the series Gendou Ikari spoke of the new mass production evas that were in production, units 5 to 15(they first appear in the second movie). They don't require pilots and they all look the same.

Blah blah blah... just go to the anipike and go to the eva section, from there you can find links to some really good eva websites.

Oh and if ya know who the characters are I might as well spoil the ending of the movie and say that End Of Evangelion finishes with Asuka(pilot of unit 2) and Shinji(pilot of unit 1) being the last survivors of the third impact, no other humans alive at all.

And they are stuck with the task of recreating the human race... heh heh heh.

I agree with TBS, I like Asuka too, she's so funny. Oh and the reason that Shinji looks like a girl with short hair is because his character face design is the same as Asuka's.

Shinji Ikari is voiced by Spike Spencer, who did voices in Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040, Nadesico, Burn Up W, and Plastic Little. Oddly enough, all of his characters look exactly alike.
