Exclusives!
 

Every console has exclusives, you will only play Mario on the Nintendo, MO is exclusive to XBox, and Sega... ever heard of Sonic? This are just a few examples. Do you think exclusives are a good or bad idea? I think it's a bad idea. For example, now MO comes only to X Box, we are forced to buy an X Box. That's money for them, but expensive for us!!! But they COULD make even more money if they release MO on PC, PS2, Gamecube, and so on. And so on. I always wanted to play a game like Mario kart, but it's Nintendo only! I recently found a site from which you can download N64 games for your PC. Will I do it? I don't think I will do, it's illegal.

So what do you think of exclusives?

Without exclusives nobody would buy an xbox. A lot of people allready have a ps2. And when you can choose: play a game on a system you have or playing almost the same game (maybe a few enhancements) on a NEW system that will cost you another 300$?

There's good and bad regarding exclusives...

Postives

• Exclusives make a console more appealling... like many will buy an Xbox just because a great title like Munch is on it
• Developers are able to concentrate on the one system therefore in some cases producing a better game (rather than having to put work into a couple of systems)
• Exclusives get more promotion from the manufacturer (like OWI is w/ Microsoft) which will mean a game will be more popular

Negatives

• You have to buy more than one system if you want to play all your favorite games
• As consoles are expensive, some people may never be able to play all their favorite games simply because they cannot afford multiple consoles at $300US each
• Too many contollers and cords mean they can get tangled! j/k

I'm sure there's more, but that's all I can think of at the moment.

Abe Babe...

There are (unofficial, obviously) peripherals which let you play GameBoy games on your PSX, and peripherals which let you play PSX games on your PC. And as CP said, a site where you can download N64 games for your PC.

There's no way we can ever stop this happening. In the future, all consoles will be interchangeable.

I heard somewhere tha Munch will be The XBox mascotte, is it real ? ? ?

CP, on these sites it says it's legal if you already have the game, which is true...but it can't be policed...there's no reason you shouldn't, exept it may contain a virus (that's not very likely though)...

If it is the future though, one would hope that the quality of such improves. Ever tried to play a PSX game on a PC using Bleem... it really sucks... it plays sluggish (even on a better computer) and the graphics appear darkened and not as good quality. I only tried Oddworld, it may be different for other games though (ones with less complex graphics).
