Oddworld Forums Hits 400 members
I was going to save this post for the 500th member mark... but probably we'll get a whole heap of members once Munch's Oddysee is released ... so I'll miss the whole damn thing completely!
Anyway, we've sure grown since we started back at the ezBoard. Over there we had a count of about 200 and something members (I think). Many who didn't move with us to the current UBB forums. Now we have hit 400 in 6 months. Thanks to all you guys for making this a great place for all Oddworld fans. And thanks to Oddworld for all the support they have given us. Abe Babe... |
Fantastic! But here's something to think about: how many REAL members do we have? Sure, a lot, but check the memberlist. Should we really count our 2 post members as real members?

In some ways I'm looking forward to the time when Oddworld Forums is booming with hundreds of new members. It will be wonderful. But in many ways it will be sad to say goodbye to the small, tightly woven sense of community we have going here.
Regardless of the outcome, I'm sure we'll have a lot of fun. |
WOW! That´s more than ever. I think the 1000th member will come soon.
On the one hand that´s cool but on the other hand the forums will get a bit to crowed, and what if more flames join? |

Now, we all know each other, have nicknames, good discussions... I wonder what will happen if we have 1000 or something members. Then you would most likely get things like are going on on the Gametips.nl forums. To those who don't know: You don't have to be a member to post there, you just fill in a name when you want to post. There are hundreds of forums their, one for each game. Multiple forums for one game in most cases. For example, Rayman 2 has a discussion forum for the following versions:
But what are the differences between the versions? There are very few, like an added seamonster in the PS2 version. Very silly, all those forums for one game. So the point of the Gametips.nl forums is that you are not a real community. No good discussions. No friendly chats. You went there 2 times a year for a little gamehelp. Help me, thanks. That's it! So we don't want want to let something like that happen on Oddworldforums, not? BTW: On Gametips.nl, I call myself "M@tthijs". hey.........we'll see when the time comes untill then we should work on making the forums a little more friendly befor we get a big buch of people we don't want to scare them off and make them leave (kinda like i almost did) we should stop with the swearing and stuff for now i now if kids my age or younger come on there parents might kick them off the forums. i maen parents don't want there kids exposed to swearing and nonsence over the internet so lets work to improve that a bit> :)
