Lockdown again and again...
Hello! Sorry for the long term absence. Life has been pretty boring lately. How's everyone still coping with the lockdowns/restrictions?
Since the easing up of lockdown I've been on holiday to Aberystwyth, become a Twitch streamer, competed in speedrun charity events and virtual cons. I'm off to a stag do next month which should be pretty fun. What are your hopes for the rest of the year? Any big plans or ideas? |
I'm fully vaccinated but still immunodeficient, so until there's a demonstrable herd immunity, I'm staying at home and shielding. Obviously I haven't been making any plans, so there's not much I'm missing out on. Some friends are tentatively planning an Alton Towers trip in late summer or autumn. I guess we'll just see how things go.

I am hoping that things are better by the end of the year - would like to visit my partner in the US in December since it would have been like 2 years since being able to meet up by then. Pretty shit.
Lots of car shows over summer though so hopefully the weather is nice. :D |
I've had my first vaccine so far and things generally seem to be slowly going back to normal here, but it remains to be seen if there'll be more waves coming.
Since the pandemic started I've been stuck at home most of the time, which suited me just fine. Had to quit my last job because the owner was a covid denier, fun times! |
it's a little scary just how quickly people are ready to move back into normalcy, though not surprising. recently we're no longer allowed to enforce masks at my job (i work at a library) so both patrons and coworkers are slowly starting to ditch them. i will not be doing so any time soon though

god, that sucks but you're better off i'm sure. luckily there's nothing like that where i work but even when we had to wear masks, most of my older coworkers would forget half the time and i'd have to remind them. |
