The ARG is Back

Looks like the ARG might be picking up again. Ed just posted a gif on his twitter account with some binary in it. I can't decipher it all but I've got this much. (X denotes word I can't work out)

X X FOR 01110100 01110000 00111010 00101111 00101111 01110111 0111011,

Thanks for sharing. For those wondering, the URL came from the binary code in the gif file.

EDIT: The following text can be found at the end of that file when opening it with a text editor:

:

74.686579, 72.697365

45.455457, -46.524253 ; first 5, first 6, second 2
-46.444457, -46.524344 ; first 6, second 2, only 3
Edit 2: seems there's another code in Ed's gif (top right corner)

This is the code I tried to break in my five spare minutes at lunch.

01101000 01110100 FOR 01110100 01110000 00111010 00101111 00101111 01110111 01110111 01110111 00101110 0010001 00110000 00110010 00111001 00101110 01101001 01101111 00101111 01001110 01100101 01110111 THE 01000010 01100101 01100111 01101001 01101110 01110010 01100001 01110100 01101001 ALLIES 01101111 01101110 00101110 01110000 01101110 01100111

If you remove the "FOR THE ALLIES" message within a message, I think the code is a URL, I'm struggling to decode it but so far I've got "http://www."`dr\ÒÞ^œÊî„ÊÎÒÜäÂèÒÞÜ\*Ü"

That was already decoded, check my message

Oh oops! Well done mate.

I put the three coordinate into google maps and they're all in the middle of the ocean, I put them into a list and they kind of form a straight line?
Edit: Turns out they only form a line from a certain angle, they aren't straight.
Still no idea about the circle and dots thing though.

Nemin 07-26-2019 01:11 PM

People from the GameDetectives Discord joined in and they solved the first line from the "coordinates" code Xav posted above:

If you interpret these "coordinates" as a bunch of hexadecimal numbers and then convert those to ASCII you get this: "theyrise"

https://www.rapidtables.com/convert/...-to-ascii.html

However, the other two lines are sadly still unsolved.

This image was posted by the Magog Cartel twitter 6 mins ago.

The first coordinate gives you a location off the coast of St. Pierre and Miquelon (45°27'19.7"N 46°31'27.3"W)

The second coordinate takes you to a point in the South Atlantic Ocean, way off the coast of Argentina. (46°26'40.1"S 46°31'27.6"W)

Someone needs to go there, and see if they didn't leave us something there.

Nemin 07-31-2019 07:29 AM

I deciphered the code... But I sadly wasn't able to solve the puzzle.

So today they gave us a new tweet with this text (it was deleted afterwards):

:

Ridiculous” and yet here we are... 4e...4...5
#wewillrise
It gave me an idea, to replace all the larger numbers with their ASCII code variant.
This gave us the following code:

:

4e 45 54 57
4f 52 4b 53
4f 44 44 57
46 5r 4c 44

Putting it through hex->ascii we get "NETWORKSODDWORLD". I've got no idea what do with it through.

Nemin 07-31-2019 07:57 AM

Solved it!

Nice find, there's some fun articles there :) Has anyone played with the star rating system? With the tongue-in-cheek style I wondered if it'd reject low ratings as review bombing and give a false perfect score regardless.

I entered a three-stars and a 1-star on different articles to see what happened. It then gave an average score of 4.3 and 3.8 I think respectively, so looks like it does take different ratings into account. Perhaps it might unlock something?

Gunnr 08-01-2019 07:13 AM

I <3 you guys :3

Varrok 08-02-2019 12:38 AM

Gunnr rates us less than three stars, which indicates average or worse.

Gunnr 08-03-2019 02:30 PM

:fuzzle:
Yeah I've noticed the star rating thing,
funny
