Lorne Lanning on the GameOverGreggy Show

Snippets of the discussion were released during last week and the full video has been posted publicly a couple of days ago. It's available here:

The topics addressed aren't Oddworld related but instead cover the Nintendo Switch, suicide, and competition. It's a great discussion with a lot of very valid points.

Oddworld related, we do however learn that:
  • Soulstorm's release has been pushed back to 2018
  • Oddworld Inhabitants have cancelled two unannounced projects they were working on.

Really curious about those unannounced projects but we'll most likely never know more about them except that they didn't cost Oddworld Inhabitants a lot of money. :p

I was also curious about these "unanounced projects". I wonder if we'll ever hear about them down the road, at least what the idea or some concepts were :)

This isn't particularly rare - some ideas progress beyond the concept stage but either aren't quite fleshed out enough to continue with or simply aren't found to be all that fun.

I'll let Lorne fill in the details if he chooses to down the line. :)

No indeed, it would be madness to continue each project till the end just because you started it.

It's just that we always want more Oddworld so we can't help but wonder what we might have missed... :p

That's a shame it's been pushed back, but hey- we all know what happens when games are rushed out. Glad they're committed to bringing us a polished final product. I assume that's why it's been pushed back? Does seem a bit strange as they were reportedly much further ahead than schedule at E3 last year I believe. That's the game industry for ya I suppose :p

While it's a shame that we have to wait until 2018, there is something to keep in mind...Sonic 06 and Sonic Boom. Because those games were rushed out, they were horrible and completely infuriated the Sonic fanbase. Do NOT want that happening to SoulStorm, especially with how it's been hyped up.

I hope unannounced projects weren't related to Oddworld.
