He's my old business associate. We thought he was dead.
He had quite a cult following years ago, but he got canceled because his show only aired really late when all the kids were asleep and the teens were watching MTV instead. Most people didn't pay attention until it was already gone. And then it spawned a really cancerous fandom similar to FNAF's and Sanic. But underneath it all was a lot of laughs.

I'm pretty happy he's back but is he with nickelodeon again? He left because they tried to edit all of his writing and it pissed him off. Also, did he claim ownership again? I think they had control over it too, though I'm not sure..

I really hope he goes with the Adult swim circuit or something else that allows more creative freedom. The invader zim comics he released were amazing. I hope he sticks to that plot of zim hiding in a toilet for years to plan and strike back.

Jhonan Vasquez, the original creator supposedly just revealed he's been working on this for a year now. It's in good hands, and the rumor is he's going to have more freedom than they ever gave him before. Who knows - this may actually turn out to be an adult-oriented film for all we know. To be honest, I think that'd be its rightful place. The guy's never been one much for writing for children and that was never his intention with the original show.

Yeah Jhonan's work always struck me as adult oriented. His old work like JTHM seeped into Zim and I loved the show for that. But it's a new era for cartoons, and because shows like rick and morty have boomed, nickelodeon probably saw this as an opportunity. Can't wait to see how it all unfolds :D I'd love more sick adult content from the mind of Vasquez lol

It brings much joy for me whenever a good a show that ended with loose ends finally gets a proper ending (like Samurai Jack or Invader Zim, even if it took over 10 years).

Yeah yeah I know I'm a little late this time. Anyway, I doubt it'll release this soon, but some are speculating that the joke about turkeys indicates that they're planning for a thanksgiving 2017 or 2018 release.

I only watched Invader Zim for the first time last October and was so upset to find out that it only had one season because I really enjoyed the show. Though I feel lucky to only have been waiting months for this as opposed to years.

Jhonen Vasquez is pretty great.
