It was on the ArtStation page of Guillaume Lachance who worked on the redesign of Abe.

And of course it's now available on TOGG too :)

This is awesome!!! It is impossible to convey in words how much I'm intrigued.

I really like how the tattoo is engraved in his skin. Just looks so much better overall.

I can't stress enough how much I love Abe's feather hair, I hope this design sticks around after Soulstorm!

^ So much YES to the feathery ponytail(in my youth i couldn't tell what it was, an antenna, hair?).

My headcanon for Abe's previous "wormy" ponytail is that all that it's was really greasy/oily from the preservative packed snacks snack he had to eat and poor working conditions.

And also the detail put in his tatts are stunning

As a side note Abe to me looks noticeably older than the mudokon found in the first arg pic.

I was somewhat worried if his ponytail was going to be too short but it looks just fine!

If I remember right, Abe is 15 and Muds have a lifespan of about 45 Oddworld years. So that makes Abe equivalent to a human 30-something. The Mud in the ARG images could be a young adult.

I always imagined Abe is 20-23. It is difficult to determine by eye how old Mudokons are, but I think most of slaves are teens and young adults. Because it's unlikely they have a chance to live until old age.

Yup he is 15 in AO and presumably NnT, though it makes me wonder how much of a time gap there will be between NnT and SS? With AE it was literally only moments(a fart and a fall) from the events of AO. I wonder if it will be the same for Soulstorm or will its events take place a year or more later. In story I don't think Abe will be 35 in SS but his model is noticable older looking.

Interestingly, around the 1900's wasn't the life expectancy of the US and UK about 35-42ish? Involving child labor and what not. Much like our mudokons were not expected to live very long given that they work at a young age and in poor working conditions.

Remember, OWI has employed a certain degree of retroactive continuity on Abe's model, and the mudokons as a whole. There's nothing that we know of to identify age in a mudokon. They're descended from birds after all, and once a bird reaches maturity—typically around 30 days or so in a cockatiel—they change very little from one year to the next.

Soulstorm will take place directly after NnT, I guarantee it. You just have to rewire your memory of Abe.

There's that accursed born-from-eggs Mudokon belly button.

I've read somewhere that if you look closely at some egg animals you can see something that resembles a belly button where their yolk sack finished absorbing into their body since egg born animals get their nutrients from the yolk.

Soo in theory...I guess..mudokon belly buttons..might make sense? :fuzconf:

So there's a weird theory for ya, idk tbh. I haven't been going around checking birds and reptiles for belly buttons so :\
