Does anyone know what the flying pink guys are?

Meetles?

Don't really look like meetle's to me.

I think those are just earlier forms of the airships seen in Munch’s Oddysee and Stranger’s Wrath.

e: I missed the video link; they’re native variants of the same concept. I don’t think they’re actually creatures, just native constructs with winglike functions.

There's a glimpse of these guys/vehicles in the "First Ten Years" book, on page 205. The page itself is about Storm Circles.

"The Storm Circle is a way to creat rain in a region, filling up the rivers and cleansing the air of industrial pollution. It was originally intended to have multiple purposes, such as becoming a massive surge weapon, a lightning strike that arcs from the circle to take out an industrial facility miles away. That design was cut yet the mystical feel of the final corcle was quite successful."

There's a picture of a Storm Circle (which looks suspiciously like the altar in NnT that gave Abe Shrykull powers) shooting lightning up into... whatever the pink guy is holding aloft. The suspended object, like a mirror, is linked with another one held by another pink thing. The lightning is then shot down onto a target.

So, whatever they are, they're some kind of bomber.

Whatever they are, they're literally the least threatening thing ever... It's the equivalent of a bunch of nazis rushing at you dressed in Elmo fur suits. They're deadly, but they don't look like it at all.

Meetles?

That's what I would have said too.

I'm not sure why but back in the days when those videos were released those things were always referred to as Meetles, but honestly I can't seem to see how they are the same as those:

Maybe special requirements are needed to make them like that, like when they eat meat or vegetables and change. I have no idea what those requirements could be though *shrug*

Well that is a better theory than what I could ever come up with!

Yes,

:

It was never determined whether Meetles only ever had herbivorous and carnivorous outcomes, the first of which could become a balloon, or whether there were a number of different resulting forms a growing Meetle could develop into. One wonders what, precisely, the Meetle would have to eat to become a balloon or a boat.

Nice, I knew I read that sonewhere, but what ARE the requirements for the larve to become a balloon creature?
Enhale a mudokon fart or what? :p lol

kjjcarpenter 04-06-2017 04:38 AM

Paul O'Connor confirmed these are meetles.

:

And are Meetles those weird eight-legged creatures with sideways faces, or those weird blimp creatures in the video where the Slig runs up the ladders?

:

both! Meetles begins as grubs, and depending on what you feed them and how you train them, they can take several forms.
