Hi there! I'm Sybil Ant, newest member of these forums. I've been lurking for a while and honestly it's a bit depressing to see how inactive the forums have become; I've probably left joining a bit late but ah well.

I love Oddworld, found out about the series after Oddworld shut down and I've played all the console games. My favourite is probably SW or MO, because I prefer those styles of game to platformers. (Burn the non-purist!)

Beyond gaming, I'm a musician, a radical feminist, I love militant politics, writing, films and so-on-and-so-forth. Don't really know what else to say so I guess that's it for me really. See ya round, schmuks!

I agree that the forums are in the less active period lately (mostly because of the lack of news from Oddworld Inhabitants), you can join our semi-official Discord channel, though! It's definitely more active than the forums atm. There's a #general_chat room there where you can talk about Oddworld or argue over controversial opinions, as you seem to have some [Munch's Oddysee, radical feminism].

It's like a shoutbox, basically.

As for Discord, I have to say chatboxes are better than forums for just chitchatting and/or shitposting, so drop in sometime.

They’re fine for serving a casual chat for a small group as part of a larger community, but when the community is already small they just dry up the actual forum.

I've actually eaten rare steak, it was corn-fed beef from the butchers; pretty nice but I did worry about worms for about two weeks after.

If people prefer the Discord (they do) then maybe it's time the forum dried up.

I prefer the Discord for socializing, but actual discussion works best on a forum since there can be multiple threads going on at once. There's not much to talk about right now but that doesn't mean things won't perk up eventually. Never mind the fact that Oddworld is a cult classic series at best. It's unlikely it'll ever have (or need) the massive fanbase that more mainstream games have.

Also, we had Oddchat, and it didn't stop forum activity.

That's absolutely true.

But we used it anyway, from time to time. As far as I remember, it didn't hurt the forums in any way, maybe even strenghtened us by a tiny bit as a community.

Ironic, but correct. Also medium rare steak is #thechoice , rare is pretty average but at least it's not well done.
