McAfee VirusScan
 
i've just got McAfee VirusScan Delux...

i keep getting told by VirusScan to open it from the Start Menu and "purchase" it...

huh???

what do i have to do?
i can't find any buttons that you can use to "purchase" it...

hmmm did you download it from the net? If so you probably only have a trail version and you would have to actually 'buy' it from a store (or off their site) to get the full version.

i forgot to say...i've just BOUGHT it from PC World for £17.49...

could it be that you have to go to their website and 'purchase' it from there? cos if it is the case then it's not clear...(no i can't try going to their site, they've got high traffic and i just downloaded a patch that dosen't work (doh))

then i dont know what they mean by 'purchase'. Unless they mean to register your copy with them. I can't really help you any further then that...as I use Norton Anti-Virus.

If you bought it from a shop, you would not have to purchase it again. Maybe they just want you to register it. I'd give the McAfee office in your country a call and find out what's going on.

I recently got Norton Internet Security which includes Anti-virus, etc ... and everything is working, I'm getting the virus updates, I registered ... but it tells me I need to subscribe to the update service (even though I am updating). I have to phone them as I was meant to get 1 year subscription w/ the software, but I just haven't got around to it yet.

i've just been to their help site, then i registered it...so i hope that's worked...they're gonna email me...
