Who thincks Loren Landing sucks for not putting MO on PS2?
 

It sucks that loren landing didn't put MO on PS2.I bet she didn't have enough money for MO but she made a deal with x-box that if they funded for MO she would put it only on x-box.But since x-box freezes so much,they are probemly going to but it on PS2! :mad: at one time but :D at another time

Stop winging, the Xbox is better than the PS2 in almost every way which means that Lorne can have Munch look like he wants him to look, the same applies to the rest of Oddworld.

if your going to knock one of the creators of oddworld, atleast make sure you know the sex of that person...
and to be honest, i'm sick of hearing people bitch and moan, and call oddworld sellouts, and losers.

and i personally think lorne made an EXCELLENT choice for going with the xbox...better graphics, faster, QUIETER and smoother among other things....and i hate to break it to you mitsur, but the rest of the quintilogy is set for the XBOX...haha keep dreaming about it going to the PS2..oh man..hahaha

You know, that's what I thought, too. But now I'm having second thoughts. Let me explain:
Jak and Daxter is released: "Oooooh... looks like the X Box might have some competition after all... :rolleyes:
Metal Gear Solid 2 is released: "Uhh... This almost looks better than Halo... :(
FFX is released: Dude! WTF? Isn't X Box better than PS2? Why isn't anything like this on the X Box? Sure, Munch has great FMVs, but... DAMN IT! :mad:

I'm waiting for JSRF. That should reinstill my hope in the X Box...

SeaRex, those games are on the PS2 because:
1. Two of those games are sequels from PSX games
2. The PS2 already has a large installed base
3. Since the PSX was popular people with PSXs are likely to stay loyal to Sony and buy a PS2
4. Sony has a large presence in the living room technology market (i.e. Hi-fis, TVs, VCRs, DVD players, etc.) so 'Sony' will be synonymous, to many people, with high quality living room technology


That is my #1 most wanted game for the 'box. I played the demo at the Xperience and it was great, I can't see that game not being popular.

I thought it had a fan, and the PS2 didn't. Which would make the PS2 quieter.

Hmmm, because we are part of the millions of FANS who bought the game in the first place! And Oddworld did sellout...stop thinking thats a bad thing! Being Bought by Microsoft ensures that OWI will be around to make the whole quintology.

1.Munch is a sequel!
2.Why leave PS2 if it already has a large installed base???
3.hmmm, reason one why Munch should have stayed on PS2, millions of fans already have it.

Play games like Jak and Daxter, ICO, FFX, and you will see what Oddworld could have been. the best system will be the one with fun games! Not how powerful it is..OWI should not bad mouth PS2 because their programmers and artist could not make the game work on the system. That's bad business practice...they should just move on without talking about what sucked...many other game companies seem to not have a problem working with the PS2. I have all the game systems so I really don't care what systems it comes out on...so the bad mouthing only proves theirs more to this then you guys want to believe. Theres always gonna be a better system, OWI can't keep switchin' everytime something more powerful comes along, and expect all there FANS to follow...

As much as I find the phrasing of mitsur's question boorish, infantile, and just plain rude, I think his gripe is that he can't play the game on his $300 game console. I agree, however, that there are good reasons for that, and that the fact doesn't justify a personal attack on Lorne Lanning. However, I also don't think we should try to suppress politely expressed criticism of Oddworld/OWI. If there is some feature of the games that has widespread dislike (e.g., spooce, the non-existent save feature of AO), it could lead to changes and improvements.

Is it really? Are all the rest coming to xbox? Because the reason why I don't know if to buy the xbox or not is that you can't be sure of that and I don't want to buy a consol just for one or two games. So have they really decided to do all of the games on xbox? Can it be read somewhere? Not that I don't believe you or anything.. :D

I didn't actually mean that games like FFX should be on the XB. I meant that these games have stunning graphics, and I haven't seen anything better on XB.

You know, some of you don't care much about The plot and story of Oddworld and all you care about is it's looks and game play. Im for one glad they put it on the X-Box. Yea Munch might of been changed since the switch. But I think it was changed for the good. Arent you at least in an ah or wounderment on what is to come next? I think Lanning did a superb job on his game. He changed the story around a little bit got rid of some charecters that did not need to be in the game. And made a perfect ending so we could start fresh and new with Munch's Exoddus. Think about it, if they were to have all those elements in Munch's Oddessy then there would be no need for a Bonus game. The bonus game is a surprise for everyone. It ties up the characters story and brings new things to light. So Lanning keep up the good work and ignor these people who want everything right now now now now now now! GOOD THINGS COME TO THOSE WHO WAIT!

Yup, the PS2 does have a fan, Tom. I think it's rather quiet, but I've got nothing to compare it to. It's louder than a cat farting but quieter than a cat miaowing.

I was mightily cheesed off when I learned of the defection to the dark side, but I've got over it now.
It's a win-win situ:
XBox succeeds = More good games for it, thus making it a more worthy purchase. Plus the games for my beloved PS2 will have to get better due to competition.
XBox flops = whammo! Price drop! XBox and Munch for half price!

But get your facts right! You need to research before putting forward an arguement, and as an Oddworld fan you really should have known that Lanning's a bloke.

There's nowt for us Sony fanboys to fear in either case; though. Lots of games go on hiatus.
The Metal Gear series totally skipped the Genesis and SNES days and was resurrected on PSX.
Metroid skipped the N64 era, and is now back for GameCube.
Luigi went on hiatus for N64, now Mario's on hiatus (not including Mario Kart 64, of course).
Ninja Gaiden skipped the PSX/N64 days and is now possibly coming for X-Box.
After a while, most good franchises go on hiatus for awhile, then come back when the time's right. I have total faith that at least one future Oddworld game will feature on a Sony console.

I REALLY hope you weren't refering to me when you said that. Story is the most important aspect of the game! (Which explains why I got "Golden Sun." SNES graphics, killer story.) I enjoyed the dtory line of MO. I gave it a 5 of 5 on a review I wrote. I was only stating the fact that the FFX graphics look better than anything on X Box, and I think XB is capable of more.

Not that this has anything to do with the switch, but I read somewhere that the XBox wasn't using all of it's graphics processing power! I wanna see that Nvidia chip go to work! ;)

I have to agree I don't think graphics make a game I think its the plot that makes it a game sure graphics are a part of a game but not the whole lot.

I think that the plot and story are the most important aspects of Oddworld Quintology.
I really love well Oddworld.. the environments and the species and characters and the heros and the story. It's just so cool and fascinating. And funny.. :D
Then the graphics are really great. I really love every single sceen from the games. They have really worked hard for them.. And you really have to respect and thank them all for Oddworld being what it is today. And no one of them sucks.

Well, the move sucks for some and rocks for others. Me having a greater yearning for XBOX than PS2 in my heart of hearts, I was pleasently surprised. I mean, Metal Gear solid and "Final" Fantasy 50,000!!! weren't exactly on my list of need to have games, so I traitored to sony, kowtowed to Microsoft and got the box and have been happy ever since! Get tricky baby! No one can outbeat me!!! (evil laugh) In fact, I think I'll play DOA3 right now! Bounce on or bounce off, that tis the question.

I personally do not give a crap what the graphics are as long is the game is long and the story is good.

Munch might look better on PS2. The x-box's okay I mean it's not all that.

I'm not gonna get in on this whole thing, whetehr PS2 is better than XBOX (i remember this arguement not too long ago with N64 and PSX) but I have heard that XBOX has a lot of glitches on it, regarless of how powerful it is. I dont have MO, but plan to get it as soon as I can. I remember the freezing problems of the first PSX, thos first manufatured machines had an overheating problem that Sony would never truly admit, though they fixed it with PS2.

For those who already bought a PS2 and can't afford to buy another system and game, it is a big mess. I can barely afford XBOX, since I had already gotten PS2 before the announcement of the switch. I sucks, sucks big time. But the way things are, it looks like all systems are winners, graphically at least. It seems to me that graphics won't decide who wins out, but originality, and what is more original that Oddworld? nNot too much.

Lorne Lanning just loves money. Like the whole of humanity. I don't think he is greedy to a fanatical or sinful degree. or would do anything fradulen for cash. WE don't know everything about the move, so I'm not going to pretend I do, but maybe their was more to the move than sheer and unadulterated greed.

Yeah Statikk, i'm sure he was SOOO greedy that he made the console switch, with an utterly impossible deadline, which caused him to cut out a lot of the original game..and i'm sure he didn't care about the fans he was loosing by going with the switch. yep it was all about moolah for good ole' Lorne. :rolleyes:

Perhaps Lorne has been striving to make the ultimate game play since OWI has been around..when a better, and all around Godlike console came out, and he saw what possibilities it unleashed for the oddworld series, he probably jumped all over it.
sure, MO isn't what we expected, but ME will be as there is no set deadline as of yet, which gives them all the time in the world to utilize the xbox's capabilities.
