your favorite music genres
 

my favorite is punk rock. i consider all forms of rap, hip-hop, dance, techno, and pop to suck considerably. mind to tell me what yours are?

I have some differing music tastes. On one hand I like metal and rock music. But on the other hand I like intstrumental and orchestral music such as all the Final Fantasy music I listen too.

I really hate hardcore rap and jazz and music from the 20s which sounds so slow and boring. Some techno is ok, especially if it is a remix of a FF song or something like that.

I don't like boy bands like Backstreet Boys... they suck big time!!!

i agree. backstreet boys do suck. along with the rest of pop music!! a lot of people are talking about pops demise. i hope it dies and never comes back. MWAHAHAHAHA!!!

i like Indie...

I hate all modern pop. There hasn't been any decent pop since the Beatles.
I do like electronica, rock and some dance. I don't like dance music that borders on pop (Vengaboys, Kylie, etc), but I do like bigbeat, breakbeat, some techno and so on (Chemical Brothers, Prodigy, Orbital etc).
Rolling Stones and Talking Heads get my vote for the best rock. I like some jazz; I don't like the very early stuff, but I love modern chillout jazz.
For sheer uniqueness, Jean Michel Jarre is the best. His music is a mix of rock, electronica and classical.
I love classical, but especially the fiery fast stuff. 'Mars, The Bringer Of War' by Gustav Holst and 'The Warriors' by Percy Grainger have to be the best classical pieces, IMHO.

I like Techno and Trance, but now i'm a fan of Didge-sounds (from big Didge artists and my own-hehehe)!

Yeah! I also hate the Backfish boobies! They make me sick with their boring music!
lol...i never would hear music of the 20s...no, thanks- i can use the music to sleep worse! bwahahahahhahaa!!!! But...the music of the 70s was really creative and crazy, i like a few songs of ABBA.

I hate Rap i can just hear people rhymes their problems with girls and other crap down with a stupid sound in the background!

HEY! Don't diss rap! Rap is the mad bunniest, mad graviest, mash potatoest music out there than stupid rock which I don't really like much anymore. You just haven't heard the good rappaz like lil'wayne, Juvenile, and D-12. techno sucks just as much. Punk is pretty gravy but does not top rap. Some pop, not N'SUCK or Crackstreet Boys. And I like r&b. :)

Hey, Alector, if you hate rap, then you hate purple hills because that is rap too. :D :D

And Joe, hip hop is rap.

Techno sucks....your right, i hate pure techno- i just like techno when it is mixed with trance. That sounds cool!

I like Mike Oldfield and his music. Who else does?

I also like Mike Oldfields Music...but i just like the CD "Voyager" that's great music!

Indie [I mean Real Indie, like Guitar Music, not just stuff like Steps that is technically Indie, but is really Pop]
Rock
Metal [to a point; REALLY Heavy Metal is just tuneless crap. And there are a lot of shit metal bands out there, Slipknot are a prime example]
Trip-Hop [decent Trip-Hop like Massive Attack or Portishead - you can shove you "and if this ain't love"s up where the sun don't shine]

Bad
Hip-Hop [ugh]
Nu-Metal [just Hip-hop in disguise]
Rap [tuneless and talentless]
Dance [all sounds the same]
Trance, House, Garage, Techno, etc. [all just the same as dance]
Pop [nuff said]
Bad Metal, Indie, Rock, and Trip-Hop [errm, well yeah...]
