If Sligs Wore Helmets
If, like the visor-mask transition of AO-AE, there was a redesign of Sligs wearing motorcycle helmets (or riot helmets, or whatever else) to obscure their faces, what would you guys think?

I would think it would look pants-on-head retarded, and that whoever would make that decision is equally retarded

Character Designer: "Yep. Oh, and make sure it's blue, with hot rod flames." (Made this thread due to a dream. Yes, I saw a Big Bro wearing a blue helmet with hot rod flames.) |
I had an Oddworld-themed dream once, but all I can remember was that it was a 3D runner-esque game with Abe escaping a Big Bro slig. No motorcycle helmets involved, though.
A riot-police slig would actually be pretty interesting/fitting to see in a game. |
My dad used to play AO when it first came out and since I was only a few years old at the time I would frequently get horrifying oddworld themed dreams. Yet shockingly it didn't put me off the franchise at all...

I think the Visor is well and good enough

I want a slig with a train conductor hat. Choo choo.

You mean like that moronic concept of armored Sligs in MO?

Anyway, I imagined more along the lines of an army helmet, or perhaps riot gear (the image is a bit too big to show up smoothly): https://sits-pod20.demandware.net/dw..._2000x2000.jpg Sligs that aren't slave supervisors so much as corporate enforcers. It'd make them lose some of their "thug" aesthetic, but they'd get an air of discipline and prestige (then again, that might go against the point of Sligs). I could've sworn there was an image of a Slig in a tank wearing a helmet, but all Slig Tank images seem to cut off just under the guy's head. |
I don't think the idea of an armored Slig is necessarily a bad idea Havoc. The execution of armor, as well as a lot of other things, in MO, was not very good though. Armored Sligs basically translated to a normal Slig that needed to be knocked over more times by Mudarchers than the normal Sligs did (that's at least how I always did it), which was just a dull way to lengthen gameplay, but not really increase much of their difficulty.
I wonder if there's a place for a Slig with armor in a future OW game. |
