A Theatrical Oddworld Movie
We all know games that got movies like Angry Birds, Ratchet and Clank and all that malarkey got movies. I want to see them do a movie on Oddworld. What will happen? I wonder if the movie will be released in cinemas and I wonder if it's focusing on Abe and Munch. :fuzzle:

I wish there was a movie :fuzsmile:,but if they made one I'm not sure how profitable it be, oddworld just doesn't have the same brand recognition as Angry Birds or other games like that.

Ive seen two trailers, I like that it doesn't "seem" to focus on humans being the protag but rather orcs with "the prejudice misunderstanding humans" Who knows I may be a great game to movie adapt. It might not bad (Kibble) or it may That being said, Here's to hoping Soulstorm is hit and gives OWI a better foothold in reconition and success in the game industry that may or may not lead to a movie, however that hypothecial movie may turn out. :/ Also I would pay to see a glukk twerk (or attempt to anyway) Plz no twerking Abe the dude already farts on command lol |
The only way it will work is if they cut ALL the cartoony stuff that's been present from Munch onwards. It needs to be Blade Runner the cartoon, and it needs to be even grungier than the original AO was if it's going to recreate the level of impact it had in the 90's. It needs to be marketed as the heaviest 3D Animated movie ever made...
ACT ONE: We need to establish the abuse of the Mudokons, and we also need to establish that Abe has no desire to be a hero. He's as weak and helpless as the rest of them. He discovers Rupture Farms dastardly plan and decides to save his own skin and get the hell out of there and he has NO plans to return to that godforsaken place. ACT TWO: Following his escape, Abe meets Big Face who insists he must go back and save his Mudokon brethren. Abe scoffs at the notion, and ventures further into the wilderness as a lone ranger. Big Face knows the prophecy, and thus cannot take no for an answer. Unbeknownst to Abe, Big-Face secretly endangers Abe's life through a series of life endangering trials and tribulations in the Wilderness, which bring about Abe's spiritual awakening. ACT THREE: Abe returns to Big-Face, ready to liberate the Rupture Farms Mudokon's but he doesn't know how. He's just a Mudokon, they have guns. Big-Face teaches Abe the ancient art of Mind Control, a power gifted to Mudokon's by the Shrykull Gods. Armed with this new secret weapon, Abe ventures back into Rupture Farms, liberate the Mudokon slaves and bring Molluck's reign of terror to an end. |
Here's a good plotline for the movie.
The film starts of with Abe narrating and scenes of Rupture Farms and scenes of him and fella mudokons at work are shown on the screen. He finds out the next meat brand coming up is him and his species as announced by Mullock. Abe is great friends with Alf so they both escape and turn the machines off. They are witnessed by spirit mudokons by the Mudokon moon. Next, they hear yelling so they run to Scrabania where they meet Munch, the last gabbit. Munch tells Abe and Alf about his life and shows them his freedom fuzzles. They hear slig guards and their pet slogs to attack them. Munch gets his fuzzles to attack them. Abe however, chants to possess one slog and keeps it as a pet. On their journey, Munch tells them a story of the Stranger who lives in the West of Mudos. The Stranger calls out and jumps out of the tree and introduces himself. Abe, Munch and Alf are scared of him and Abe farts which disgusts all 3. Munch opens the doors to Vykkers Labs and shows them the cruel vykkers. Abe's slog is told to attack the vykkers by his owner. They find themselves to a big place in the labs and then you see Abe and Munch on the vending machines, Alf looking at his reflection in the mirror, the Stranger shooting the targets and more. You then see a scene where they play with the controls including Abe until Abe tells them to move on. On the way, Abe tells everyone they need to get to Rupture Farms. So Munch, Alf, his slog, the fuzzles and the Stranger go to Rupture Farms and they see Mullock putting the mudokons in the slaughterhouse. Abe is not happy about this, so all his friends attack the sligs and some glukkons including Mullock's sidekick. There are more slogs than Abe's one so he gets his slog to bark at them. Munch turns on his zapper and zaps and stuns his enemies. Alf puts up a mirror reflection on them to hurt the sligs' eyes and the Stranger shoots the sligs with his gun. Abe tells Munch to spit water on one of the glukkon's eyes. All of the sligs are gone and now it's just the glukkons. Everyone uses their favourite way of violence to defeat them with. Then it's only Mullock. He puts Alf on to the cooker in the slaughterhouse and an army of scrabs help out with the paramites and the rest of the wildlife. Munch says Mullock's responsible for killing his species and saying he's the last one. Abe let's out a gigantic fart which he stuns him with then he tells Alf to play a funky disco song. The song chosen is Go West by the Pet Shop Boys. Munch and the Stranger like the song too and everyone forces Mullock to dance. Abe turns the jukebox off and then he and Munch encourage their pet slog and the fuzzles to attack Mullock followed by Abe's chanting, leaving Mullock to fall in the cooker and then shut down the Mudokon Pops brand and turn it into Glukkon Pops once and for all. During that, Abe and Alf open all the doors trapped with mudokons and fuzzles and lets them free to go. The film ends with Abe happily narrating the good turnback from being meat to being free. The credits show different scenes of Abe, Munch, Alf, the Stranger, the fuzzles, Abe's slog, Mullock and the rest of the cast including Munch giving birth to more gabbits set to the song You Are Not Alone by Michael Jackson. |

Interesting. So it appears Abe would have set all the livestock free in a compassionate move, which angers Molluck (who is already furious from "young CEO's" telling him how to do things) so Abe's only option was to escape. Then, in a hate-filled move, Molluck decides to chop up everyone in Rupture Farms so they don't lose profits.
I'd argue that's a bit more bleak than the game, and kinda gives more reason for him to chop up his entire workforce. Cool stuff. |
