Linklegend2 managed to find what looks like our first clue – spam the message box enough and you get “SEEME.WAV”

I don't know what it is, but it sounds fucking awful

I was hoping I would be able to help again this time around, but I got nothing.

There's a definite pattern/rhythm to it, though. What does it look like in Audacity or another program that shows a "visual" version of the sound?

The sound reminds me of an Easter egg that was in portal 2 where with a program the sound turns into a picture

The file name makes me makes me think of http://oddworld.com/soulstorm/spiritof1029.jpg but I'm not yet sure if they're related. Lsot.mp3 was in this one, wasn't it?

I know RF used to be the main source of bones before it was blown up and mining in Necrum started.
Also not a clue with that long gibberish note/story but a cipher defiantly may solve it(duh,right?)
But which cipher?

I believe the text file contains lorem lipsum. So is anyone aware of a lorem lipsum decoder or cipher ?

Well I missed a lot! Nice finds guys, I'd been expecting one of those audio files to translate into a picture sooner or later. :p I think you're on to something with the flipped words, Manco. But what do they mean now we've found them?

A cipher seems likely, however. Why would they write so much gibberish for only one word to be used every 3 or 4 sentences? The obvious things like the first letter of each word don't return anything.

Worth putting the flipped words into the chat box? Or maybe googling them?

EDIT: Is it worth mentioning there are several other blog posts on that website also? I don't know how they'd relate. The amount of gibberish is a bit overwhelming.

I think they lifted the text from the site EJ Prime found, then picked out the words they wanted and flipped them. I’m not sure the site itself is relevant here.

The large amount of text is probably to obscure the flipped words.


Googling the complete string does nothing, and doing the same for individual words would be pointless since they’re so common.

It may just be coincidence but worth noting that “object defective distrusts” = “ODD”.

Good point, those sly dogs them, so I suppose the logical way forward is to examine what ciphers could apply to the word string you extracted from the .txt

I got it, I had the solution like half an hour ago but I missed it because I’m lazy.

The first letter of every flipped word = “gokboqoddsxqmvycobtzq”

I ran it through a Caeser cipher decrypter but the usual ROT-13 didn’t yield any results. However, if I’d been more thorough I would have spotted that ROT-16 is:

I just took some of my old gameplay recordings cut the deaths up, and ran them through a mpeg to gif converter
Don't know who to send it to, so for now, ed.

I wonder what they'll accept as "new"... regardless, I'll try to capture some deaths and make some gifs
