This would go under the "I have just seen" thread. Though, no, I've never heard of the show.

:

In a dystopian, near-future Los Angeles, California, a couple, Katie (Callies) and Will (Holloway) Bowman, live with two of their three children, under a regime of military occupation by an organization known as the Colony Transitional Authority. They are part of a larger invading force, of extraterrestrial origin, who are referred to as the Hosts, and as the Raps, apparently a reference to raptors (the logo of their human forces features a stylized bird of prey). It is said of them that "no one ever sees them". The Hosts have built an enormous wall, around 20–30 stories tall and many meters thick, that surrounds the central part of Los Angeles, and similar walls around other major cities (now called Blocs), while various buildings still display severe damage from the armed conflict during the invasion, known as the Arrival.

Sounds interesting. Very City 17-ish. But as Job said, this really belongs to the I've just seen thread.

Mister EVP_Glukkon should have the right to make his own topic.

I've never heard of the show.

Making a thread to discuss a show should be perfectly fine, especially if a handful of people are also watching it

But there's not very much substance to the OP so I'd recommend trying to actually spark up a discussion here ,EVP, to prevent this thread from being necrum'd or just fading into oblivion

Vlam 02-29-2016 05:20 PM

Is it like Gravity Falls?

I was light because I had to log off at the time.

Colony is about the Husband being an investigator/enforcer type trying to destroy terrorist cells opposed to the Alien invasion and current government administration. Twist here is that his own wife is actually part of the insurgency and he doesn't have a clue about that.

The plot thickens when both the insurgency and government face external and internal conflicts of interest. There is an initial black and white between both factions, however this becomes grey as each character and their motivies further develop, leading me to generally like everyone involved on both sides!

That's my thoughtful opinion. Now for my very primal opinion:

Colony is great is because I love watching armed men in uniform bust houses and smack people in the face.

Haven't seen that one so can't compare sorry.

You mentioned a wife: are you watching a soap opera (like "Homeland")?

Thats what I feared, but thankfully no. The drama here is real drama, as in people are going to die drama.

Vlam 02-29-2016 07:01 PM

So no CIA agents who keep talking about their feelings? I will give it a try.

Yes Vlam every TV show with a female character is a soap opera. Because the only thing females do is talk about men and feelings. Why can't they just go make me a sandwich?

I probably went too far with that

I would side with the Transitional Authority, because Homeland security is just too awesome.

Thanks for checking out the show, I hope you enjoyed your time with it.

@Mac Sirloin. I know where you are coming from, I worry that the second season, having taken feedback from viewers etc will be different to the first.
Time will tell.
