Oddbodd, if you get a chance to read this, please see all of the people who want you back. You add so much to the lovely forums, and I wish you will stay... please, Oddbodd.

Guys, I don't want to be rude, but if he really leaves, I think he won't reply. E - mailing him sounds as a better idea to me.

Anyway, if he really leaves, it's still possible that he will come back. Look at Rex Tiranno. He/She (I just don't know... sorry!) posted a "Last post ever" topic in which said that he/she would leave. Later, however, Rex returned.

Oddbodd please don't leave, you add humor to these fourms and we don't wanna lose you for good like we almost lost ya last time.

I believe when all said and done Oddbodd is the number 1 fan of Oddworld.Always honest, and true, no false compromise, always off the wall, and funny, and if he leaves the place will lose half it's soul.

I'm only leaving because i think that the oddworld forums sense of identity is being ruined by the bombardment of new people that flood the forums with their questions and mindless babble.
I just feel that i have lost the connection i used to have with the oddworld forums...i'll still go to oddchat and work on my site..

The amount of newbie's arriving here has pissed me off too! However, we were all newbies once and there is always gonna be fresh blood in the Oddworld Forums and therefore in theory make it a more diverse and intresting place. Of course the trade-off is that a few 'core' members feel alienated from what the Forum was and what it is becoming. it's a shame you feel this way ODDBODD. I was gonna post a 'I HATE ALL NEWBIE'S' post, but then Sydney or someone else would come along and tell me not to be so stupid. :(

I don't think the forums lost their identity. We still have a lot of our veterans. It's bombed here with newbies, true. All those "Is Munch for PC? Is it really X Box exclusive?" are annoying, true.

But look at how much they post. I see a lot of them gets away after a few posts. Some are even 0 post members.

So, I don't think Oddworld forums lost it's identity. I think the storm will be over soon, and then, we will see how many really want to become part of our comunity.

This is what I think: After a while, the newbies will stop comming, as most of them would have gone on to new games. By then, some of the newbies will have become as responsible as us veterans. Remember how TBS, Freaky LA, and Alector used to be? Remember how much they spammed? Now look at them, they've become friedly, responsible members.

Problem: Too many members with thier questions and what not.

Solution: Ride it out!

If you decide to leave because of the inundation of new members, you're part of the problem. The solid core of old members are what keeps this place entertaining. Deciding to leave merely because you don't like new people only makes it worse for the rest of us.

To minimise spamming we're deleting pointless and boring topics. But it doesn't help when after one post is deleted several angry posts immediately spring up demanding to know why their post was deleted. If a post disappears, it disappears for a reason. I'm not trying to sound arrogant, but just trust us.

Also, I've noticed some newbies (although the same rule applies to oldies, I guess) have been posting impolite requests that reek of fury and anger, demanding that their general questions to be answered. The answers can be found half way down the topic listing in another thread of the same subject, but the poster doesn't seem to care. Such topics will be deleted or closed. If the member continues posting like this they'll be banned. Other forums are stricter than us, but I think we'll have to become more intolerant of bad behaviour if we want Oddworld Forums to remain a nice leisurely place to come after a busy, stressful day.

Maybe Abe Babe and I can come up with a FAQ that can put an end to the questions that seem to pop up everyday. We might also put the "Only on Xbox" sticker somewhere to prevent the countless "Will Munch be on PS2?" topics.

It's really sad that members who have been with us for a long time are becoming dissatisfied with the forums. :(

Oh, come on Oddbodd Sydney is right although I do get annoyed by all of the pointless and repeatative questions it dosn't mean you have to leave. Please rethink your decsision Oddbodd we'd all hate to lose you.
