Using Invisible Switch on stuff?
Is it possible to make a new Invisible Switch and make it trigger stuff like falling boulders, electric barriers, slamdoors, grinders, et cetera ?
I tried using it. It would actually act like a solid being higher. When Abe walks pass by he acts like he fell from a second floor. I checked and made the floor straight on the x axis. And the target did not trigger on. I also tried with three grinders and another invisible switch. But the grinders bug out. When Abe enters the screen one grinder goes down 10 pixels more than set in the editor, then goes above the current screen and stays on there.. but doesnt get back down. Also the switch for them doesnt do stuff as well Will Paul add this possibity? |
Its hard to understand what you're trying to say. Maybe post a video or something?

Imagine a simple level. Two electric barriers next to each other whose state is off, one invisible switch next to them that's supposed to turn them on. Abe stands where the switch is supposed to be. Electric Barriers wont turn on.

I would start with something thats known to work, try linking it to a trap door instead. The electric wall resources have strange limitations.

Hmm.. yes.. trap doors should work.
I guess that slam doors can work too right? What else could.. Flying mines... |
Did it work?
|
I'm afraid none of them worked... neither Slam Doors neither Trap Doors.
And did you know that object's values are opposite? For example, Direction: Right is actually Left, and Start State: ON is actually OFF. |
I tried changing States/Actions for both Switch and Trap/Slam Door
And still nothing |
Is it possible to like hide the step switch? Like hiding the trap door with Anim Offset
|
I doubt it, best way to figure this stuff out is to find some where that already works in the game and check how they did it and just copy that.
|
Well.. I can't copy any object from a path to another. I checked their values and correctly put them in my level, id for switch and door are same of course. I don't know though, planning to make traps and stuff that's why I want to use the invis sw..
