do you like school?
Do you like school ????????
-no :D -yes  |
well for me it isn't really a yes or no question. I hate math and P.E. I like orchesrta, science, S.O.S.E and C.A.B.S.(computer and business skills).
|
School is the source of all of my suicidal tendencies.. so of course I HATE IT!
![]() |
The only reason I like it is because it keeps me from being bored.
|
What kind of person enjoys, going to a place were older people that are so called "teachers" yell and scream at u for not doing u'r homework, i mean it's not gonna effect em in any if i don't do my homework or not they still get paid, plus i hate every person in my class, no i hate every person in my grade! Also the think that really shits me the most about it all is that i have to wake up bright and early to go to a place i hate the MOST!     :mad
|
Well, my school must be very different from yours because the Teachers don't yell, they just give you a zero. And, many of the kids are fine, too.
|
Well, my school is high school... and we all know that high school is Hell. What's worse is that my school is brand new and not all of the bugs have been fixed out yet. The teachers are horrible, and my peers annoy the hell outta me. I can't wait until I'm in college.
|
Well I did like Grade school but I hate High School and I still have one more year to go before I hit year 11. I only hate math, PE and science they are such boring subjects but I like seeing my friends and doing good subjects like english.
|
School's horrible, but it's essential. I only wish the teachers would get the idea that it's easier to do less lecturing and more work in class, rather than giving us homework!
|
For me, high school would be good if they got rid of 2 things;
1) The teachers and 2) The students..well, besides me and my friends (all 4 of 'em) :D |
In my eyes, school is nessecary and evil (mostly evil) at the same time.
NESECARY FOR: You learn things there (hopefully!) EVIL FOR: The teachers think that they may order you to come, even if you don't want. They think they have the right to give homework, to angry when it's not done. To let you stay from half past 8 to 5 o clock as a punishment. They think you deserve a pinishment when you come too late. When you forget your homework. THEY DON'T HAVE THE RIGHT TO DO THIS!!!!!!!! Once, a teacher said to us: "I'm not here for myself, but for you." That is ridiculous! I have no choice but to comew, teachers have chosen their job THEMSELVES! School is one of the things I hate most in my life. And off-line, I can't find others that share my opinion! And even friends and family! I see, that there are some others here with the same opinion. I'm happy for that. :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) |
School ok, I learn alot from it, but I would rather be playing games.

My school is just okay...and i don't mind being there, but it does get a little dull sometimes.
There are two high school campuses in my town, East and West. East is the agricultural school, while west is the more industrial oriented side. I go to west. The teachers are okay, but nothing special. The only thing that's lame about west is the people that go there...i would say that my town is like 80% hispanic (don't get me wrong, i'm not against hispanics) and pretty much all of them hate white people...so at school me and my friends (all 5 of 'em) have to avoid getting jumped on a dialy basis. I guess it adds excitment to my days, but still it can be a little unnerving at times..when i was a freshmen, i was stabbed in the thigh with a ball point pen because i had blue shoes.... but yeah, i guess i DO like school. I like to learn new things, and hang out with friends. Luckily, we have an open campus and we constantly leave.heh |
Am I the first person here to realise that there is a simple way to stop teachers from shouting at you for not doing homework: Just do the f*cking homework! It's for your own benefit; you're the one who's meant to be picking up an education...
I don't particularly enjoy college, but what are you gonna do? I enjoy the lessons, because I enjoy learning things, but there's always the fact that you're gonna have to do some huge A/S Exams in June hanging over your head. School would be less stressful if they didn't tell you that it mattered until after you'd done it... |
What? u don't think i do my h/w? i'm saying when i don't do it i get yelled at, beside's school has really just taught me the basic's, now there just teaching stuff i will never need to know or use again in the rest of my life, e.g we learnt about Romeo and Juliet a story written over 450 yrs AGO! geez that's really gonna benefit my future caree don't u think?? I have learnt more things from my computer and the idiot box more than school, only reason i go now is because i'm trying to be like every 1 else "Academic" which is y i hate school!

Well as much as i know i hate school along with my friends which hate school too

Hate School? Solution: Home Education. Though you SHOULD NOT do what I do. I sit on my arse all day playing games and sleeping, which is wrong. Instead, boring as it may seem, you should do school work at home. However, there are several advantages of Home Education, but also many disadvantages.
Anyway, the reason I am Home Educated is mainly because of bullying, but also because the local high school isn't very good. I was bullied in Primary School, but I coped with it. The nearby high school isn't very good at all (messed up holidays, stressful working conditions, too much homework at once), so I went to a high school in Sheffiled for hlaf a year, living with my auntie. That school was exlellent, but it was too far away from home (over 250 miles), and I got homesick after half a year and had to come back. Anyway, the local high school is also a colledge. The high school part of it isn't very good, but the colledge part is. I will be taking a computer course there this year. - DH |
I'll have to say that I do hate school.. Well it isn't really the school that I hate. I go to high school which is specialised in languages. I really like the school. And teachers are alright.. But I really don't get along with the pupils there.. They're so shallow and annoying that I really can't cope with them. I have few good friends there and I love beeing with them but now when my best friend is in France for a year as an exchange student it's really hell in there..
And it's really terrible to wake up at 6.00 a.m. because I have to go to school. I hate early mornings and because I stay up for too long in the evenings I'm always terribly tired in the mornings. :( And some things that you study in school are like sooooo useless.. I think that history, geography and religion shouldn't be taught at schools. Who really needs them? If you need to go somewhere or you wanna know where some place is.. that's what maps are for! :D And you really can't and shouldn't teach someone to believe in something. And I just had an exam yesterday about church history.. who really cares? Well I don't. And history.. I really always fall asleep when I'm trying to study for a history exam. Well there are some periods and events in history that I find fascinating, but still.. But those subjects are civilizating.. So you have to study them... blah.. :o There are also nice subjects in school. :) I love languages and I'm studying well.. Finnish of course.. and then English, Swedish, French, Latin, Greek and Italy. And I would really much like to study Japanese. :D Though it's very difficult.. But maybe some day in the future.. ![]() And languages aren't the only great subjects at school. Then there's biology, music (well the basic courses suck.. but the band courses are cool :) ) and art.. Home economics was also a lot of fun when I had it at junior high. But that's a looong time ago.. ;) [ January 05, 2002: Message edited by: Fazerina ] [ January 05, 2002: Message edited by: Fazerina ] [ January 05, 2002: Message edited by: Fazerina ] |
History had to be taught if we are not to turn into a generation of ignorant, shallow idiots... Why would anyone not want to learn about the past? It's interesting and useful to know. Geography, despite being incredibly boring, is also very useful, for obvious reasons. And [in Upper Schools at least] RE lessons don't try to teach people to be any particular religion, they just teach you about the religions of the world.
The most pointless and boring lessons, in my opinion, and Language lessons. Well, I don't have much experience of them, having only really done French for any long periods of time. But the fact is, not meaning to sound like some patriotic pig, that most people that we are likely to encounter in the world speak English anyway. These forums are an example of this. I was glad to be rid of French when my GCSEs were over and I finally got to actually choose what subjects I wanted to do... [I chose Physics, History, Maths, and Biology at A-Level, for anyone who cares...] |
U still seem to be dodging my question.. I did'nt say there was something wrong with learning history, i said there is something wrong with learning about stupid Irrelevant things like Romeo and Juliet, it's learning about stupid crap like Romeo and Juliet that will never help me in my future caree. In my robotics class we watched toy story as a video??? what the hell is up with that? that film has nothing to do with robotics, and we certainly did'nt do any work on it after we had watched it. C these r the things i hate about school it's not just what we learn, it's also the other people in my class, always making death threatening remarks to other people, and if u challenge em to a fight they get all there friends to help them, (u think that's fair????). Teachers r also messed up my friend did'nt hand his math work in and when he did it was 2 weeks over due, the teacher did'nt really seem to give a rat's ass, i handed mine in 1 day late she went nutz at me, they way she reacted was like it was 1 month! These things can really destress a student at school then it becomes hard to concentrate and learn because u r always constantly worrying and thinking about these things i just mentioned, the average high school environment can be really stressful which is why i hate school.

I think Rettick was talking to me and not to you... Well I know that history and geography are important, but they're so boring to me that I wouldn't want to study them. Of course it's important to know what happened in the past and so on..
And yeah.. in high school and on other upper levels the religion courses aren't about that anymore. I know that. Because I've now had all the religion courses in hig school and they were about different religions and etics and moral and so on.. but I ment the lower levels.. |
I was talking to Fazerina, Surfacing...
Sorry if I was avoiding your question. What was it again? |

What's LOTE? A Language?
|
I don't like school, reason: It's too big!! I'm used to a school (1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 grade) with classes on around 5-10 pupils. I liked that. People accepted me as the one I was because everyone knew everyone and everyone was good friends. Then I come to a school with 30 pupils in each class in a school with population: 400. Yay. Guess who is feeling down? And soon school starts again, blaah... The only lessons I like is art, english, french (if I only could get rid of those annoying assholes that throws things on me) chemistry and music.
Reason to hate school: People can't accept me. I'm fat and I dress in clothes that is as modern as my grandfathers mothers old clothing. That makes me "less worth" than them. Who cares? All these bimbos staring at you and the braindead guys pointing really pushes you down. The only ones that likes me is my friends and those strange, satanic/magicbelieving girls... I wonder why they like me anyway. Reason to like school: This is the place where I have my only offline friends. We have great holidays and special days like costume day. It also makes me think of other things than that wich makes me sad. Oh, well. Thats just the way I am, never happy with anything... |

I enjoy school, although obviously some aspects of it are better than others. We all have the subjects we enjoy and excell at, as well as those we despise. I hated Maths; I can not imagine a subject as dull as fiddling with figures for an hour and a half - but it turns some people on: to each his own.
The subjects I enjoyed were Art, English, Biology and Ancient History. It's good that schools offer a balanced curriculum; if we discover what we are good at and enjoy we're likely to pursue a fulfilling carreer in that field. School also gives us friends. On the downside, schools often have teachers who don't teach because they like educating students, but rather they enjoy the feeling of power they have over their classes. Those kind are pathetic, often using petty and cruel tactics in proving their power. Put a tick in the plus column for the many good teachers the education system produces, too. |
Its' Ok for me, But it intentionally S**KS! The teachers get paid while we do all the work!
