Those are just stills from the gameplay demo video from much earlier in MO's creation-period. They've circulated the internet for years.

I don't know about the sound though, that could be new...

Weren't these pre-rendered rather than gameplay demos?

Phylum 01-18-2015 05:47 AM

10 points to Holy Sock.

Those were never gameplay. They were gameplay concept videos. Pre-rendered to show what they wanted to achieve with the game, and endlessly misinterpreted.

'Candy Striper' is an American slang term for a hospital volunteer. My guess is that it was either intended as a class of intern or used to refer to the Muds in Vykker's Labs.

EDIT: I just reread your description of the audio. It's been a while since I played MO; wasn't there a robot that Munch could control that shot out sedatives? Perhaps at one point they intended to have them as autonomous enemies.

Close, it's actually a placeholder or early name for Snoozers, which makes the sedative part make sense. I don't know if they were ever going to have voices.

Were the Snoozers ever meant to be autonomous?
