Major glitch (Needs a little more testing)
So, to reclaim the top spots on the leaderboard, I started playing again. From the beginning. Start up rupture farm, skip the cutscene, watch the sligs run past as I wait for control to be passed over, and then the game pauses. I think, 'oh, I hit pause by accident'. I unpause and it pauses again. Thats weird right? I unpause again and its fine. So im like, thats weird, but i continue on. I head to the first secret area and it happens again. It pauses the game every time I enter an area. I tried paramonia and the same thing happened.
One thing, I played the game for like 10 minutes this morning while psn was offline, and it didnt happen then. This is a major glitch. It affects regular gameplay by 0% but it instantly kills all speedrun attempts by adding 2 minutes of pausing and unpausing to the run. I need to know whether its just my copy and how to resolve it, or if its an actual bug. |
I don't really know, but does the game itself count the playthrough time?

It does, but it doesnt count milliseconds. So if 2 people get a time of say 1:36:36, u dont know whos faster.
Its also just a major inconveniance. If it was just levels id be kinda okay with it, except with freefirezone. But its every secrt area and every screen. |
Do speedrun lengths really vary so little as milliseconds? If I beat somebody just by 100ms I wouldn't really think about it as a win

I've heard of this before, but the complainant reported it just went away on its own. It might be because of a slightly screwy save file. Try starting another game afresh, or failing that, reinstalling.

Okay. Ill try starting a new save file. Maybe I can try doing my first back to back run of all the levels. So far ive just been doing segmented. Though I still havent finished routing zulag 4, and zulag 3 is still a run breaker. Hey Wil? You know about the glitches in zulag 3? I posted this on the blog a while back. So did Sutiibu. The room with the mines floating around, well only 1 of the mines explode, meaning u gotta be real careful escorting the mudokens. Its still doable, but risky. Also, the switch to pull the elevator sometimes doesnt work, killing the run. Sutiibu also posted a youtube link on the blog a couple months ago.

Also, there are scenarios where a real time measurement is different to the in game time. Most speedruns are recorded as RTA's (Real time attack). Since in a lot of games that have in game timers wil pause during cutscenes and when in the menu. I dont think the level timers for New n Tasty start when the cutscenes start. A confirmation on this would be fantastic. |
