I think you meant to quote gishygleb there.

STM 05-12-2014 02:01 PM

I honestly thought she was very pretty, and the beard thing was quite cool too!

JayDee 05-12-2014 02:14 PM

If offered, I wouldn't exactly object to the idea.

Wings of Fire 05-12-2014 02:22 PM

Also also this is all irrelevant and off topic.

EDIT: And now it's relevant and on topic!

Slog Bait 05-12-2014 03:01 PM

You'll have to forgive me for further off-topicness, but I thought they were a drag queen, making 'he' the appropriate pronoun? Or am I being completely ignorant right now

I checked wikipedia just to be safe. They use the female pronoun for their draq queen persona, but since it's a persona I won't begrudge anyone for wanting to call her him.

JayDee 05-12-2014 03:28 PM

Interesting? I personally think this year's Eurovision was the Wurst.

Job McYossie 05-12-2014 03:57 PM

Help me, I have Americanism and need to be explained to what "Eurovision" is.

That pun is good, J_dude320

Phylum 05-12-2014 04:17 PM

I still think the best Eurovision act I've seen was the one where Jedward wore those Power Ranger suits in 2012. That was great.

Fucking Eurovision.

MeechMunchie 05-12-2014 06:17 PM

Nah, it's got to be Lordi, Finland's Mutant Metalheads. Or last year's Dracula Dubstep from Romania.

Help me, I have Americanism and need to be explained to what "Eurovision" is.

It's an annual event where the people of European* nations put aside their differences to enter song and dance acts to a lavish competition, hosted by last year's winning country. Viewers across Europe phone in to vote for their favourite act. Those votes are counted, then systematically ignored by a panel of judges for each country who then distribute points to whatever country is most likely to invade them in the coming year. The country/act with the most points wins.

Fun Fact: This year, Poland won the popular vote. The result was outweighed by disapproving judges.

I wonder why.

She

To clarify, Conchita's a character portrayed by cis male comedian Thomas Neuwirth; not a trans woman.

Think Dame Edna, or Lily Savage.

*The EU, not geographical/"actual" Europe. Israel, basically.

STM 05-12-2014 08:46 PM

I know but when in character he prefers to be called a she apparently. I'll just call people whatever pronoun they want so long as there's a good reason for it. :P

gishygleb 05-13-2014 03:00 AM

A drag means the gender shift, so if a person is originally a he, than he must be called "she" and the other way round.

AvengingGibbons 05-13-2014 03:10 AM

The drag character can be referred to as a woman, in the same way female characters in a play who may be played by male actors are still referred to as women as long as they are in character. When the bearded lady is not in character, I suppose the person identifies as a man (unless they are transgendered, but as far as I know, they are not transgendered, just a transvestite.

Crashpunk 05-13-2014 04:02 AM

Every. single. year. I cannot stand it.

I honestly do not understand the appeal of Eurovision. It's just an glorified way to insult each other by just voting for neighbouring countries. It's the most cringe-worthy thing on television.

And as for this year's winner... I literally don't even know anymore.

*hands up in the air* I'm done.

gishygleb 05-13-2014 05:09 AM

Sexism detected.

JayDee 05-13-2014 06:52 AM

Dislike of Eurovision detected.

Varrok 05-13-2014 09:00 AM

Eurovision is a steaming pile of shit.

STM 05-13-2014 09:57 AM

Just like Poland.

HA.

Because Eurovision, and voting for neighbours, and...nevermind.

Mr. Bungle 05-13-2014 10:48 AM

so, what's the topic here? Bearded ladies? Hmm.

No opinion

STM 05-13-2014 10:55 AM

Would you give it to her. That's the topic.

Let's confuse the few straight people left on the forum.

gishygleb 05-13-2014 12:34 PM

Like Varrok.

Eureka! A majestic theory has just occured in my head!

--------Why is Oddworld played mostly by everyone but heterosexual males.--------

1. It has a relatively small amount of violence, which is caused by the player's character.
"Why does not he carry a gun?"
All the cases, when you may cause violence are pre-conditioned. That means, you do not get a tool of destruction right in your hands from the beginning. You have to think hard and solve puzzles, which require PATIENCE, to get a grenade, Shrykkul, possess a slig.

2. This game is mostly about patience and passivity.
"That Shrykkul is standing in place for 16 seconds already!"
You have to WAIT for an enemy to walk into the traps, rotate not to notice you, you hide, crawl, etcetera.

3. This game is about being CARING.
"99 mudokons? ..."
In order to have a good ending, pass some regions, etcetera you have to care for someone, stop them from fighting, laughing under the influence of a gas, CURE, show SYMPATHY (which is concidered freak in a masculine society).

4. This game has practically NO females.
"No boobs? This game is ****!"
It does not attract heterosexual male perverts (and lesbian), as there are not fet'iche things, which deal with female reproductive organs.

Most of males are heterosexual and do not change their views on sexism throughout their life. Those, who discover their queerity (asexuals, homosexuals, etcetera), doubt the society's opinion and in most cases abandon it, regaining their blocked "femininity". The problem is that an overwhelming percent of gamers is male and heterosexual.

This is also the reason of Abe's Oddysee, Abe's Exoddus, Munch's Oddysee being not so popular and the reason of our forums being quiet.
THAT IS WHY LORNE HAS TO BE EXCEPTIONALLY FABULOUS.

STM 05-13-2014 01:32 PM

Lol stereotypes.

Nepsotic 05-13-2014 01:43 PM

Eurovision is shit, but that doesn't mean it isn't fun to watch. Crash, don't be such a miserable cun't spill.

Crashpunk 05-13-2014 02:51 PM

Okay I have to agree. Eurovision is fun to watch... With the right people. In fact, pretty much any show that can be pick on is fun to watch with friends.

Also. Cun't Spill means Can't Spell. It's an reference to my terrible spelling.

Job McYossie 05-13-2014 03:28 PM

Can someone please just tell me what the hell it is. I don't want to bother with google.

E: I'm just stupid, nevermind me
