Cars
I was inspired by the phone thread to create this one, and well, it's no secret that I'm a series petrol head (gear head to the yanks) some just like the phone thread, either don't take it seriously for a couple of posts, or post what your driving :p I don't know if this will be a success, probably not, but no harm in trying, the drinks thread was somewhat successful if any of you remember that one
So this was my first car, A 1996 Peugeot 106 XL 1.1 http://i57.tinypic.com/5fofw6.jpg But by the time I finished with it, it looked a bit different. http://i59.tinypic.com/zuo01z.jpg http://i58.tinypic.com/a32pnn.jpg Then I had my 2001 Ford Focus LX 1.6 http://i62.tinypic.com/2uho0on.jpg And this is what I currently have now, A 2007 Vauxhall Astra H Elite 1.7 CDTi http://i59.tinypic.com/1zvu2bs.jpg |
You were inspired to make this by the "birthday" thread, don't lie.
In my opinion, the design of Peugeots suck, they allmost have that dumb smiley face on the front. In fact here's a few crap cars I would really hate to own: Fiat Multipla - Ugly. Fiat 500 - Ugly. Nissan Cube - Ugly. The star prize goes to the shit mcnugget Ford Ka for it's massive bumper on the back. Especially when the person owns a yellow Ka and the bumper is that grey colour as well. Absolutely vile. |
I have an.... Electric scooter that goes 15MPH max and has a radius of 8 Miles...
|
this piece of shit.
http://images.autobahnmotorcompany.c...10-640x480.jpg Volvo s40 XS 4-door saloon, i think i'm the fourth owner or something. that image isn't actually mine, i'll try and take a snap when i get the chance. mine is a nice, dull red. rusty red, i call it. with more miles on the clock than Moses. |

@JG: You made a thread exactly like this 3 years ago.
Mah wheels: http://www.oddworldforums.net/attach...1&d=1397015966 Check out that custom paint job! Pimp mah ride, foo'! http://www.oddworldforums.net/attach...1&d=1397015966 I accidentally scratched the frame. Later, I was using metal paint for a different job and had no masking tape handy, so I thought "Meh, I'll slap some paint on this crap while I'm at it, it's better than it going rusty." Why do I have a photo of this botched "repair"? Even I don't know! :P I don't intend to resell the bike, so whatever. Okay seriously, a car would be nice, but I'm waiting until my resentment at having to cycle everywhere (and dodge traffic in a place which has its share of shitty drivers) overcomes my desire to live cheaply. But this thing does me for now. Keeps me fit. EDIT: Anyone seen these things driving around yet? I overtook one of these things the other week (yes, on the above "vehicle"). Forget your Fiat Multipla, these things look weird as hell, and impractical. And I'm one of the ones who thought the Smart FourTwo wasn't a bad thing. http://i.telegraph.co.uk/multimedia/...y_2305212c.jpg |
I don't have a car.
|
I too. Don't have a car.

EDIT: I actually didn't think that the Fiat Multipla was ugly when it first came out, I think I was more astounded by the fact that they managed to build it on top of the Fiat Brava, same applies to the Citroen Picasso, still in shock they managed to build it on top of the Citroen Xsara. |
That is worse, I'll admit, like Fiat Multipla x 100 worse. Thing is, I've seen that car before, yet I completely forgot about it, though 90% of electric cars look equally bad so I could just add:
Electric Cars - Ugly Fiat Multipla - Ugly Fiat Multipla - Ugly The hard thing is coming up with a favourite car, I would've said Mitsubishi Eclipse, but the modern design ones look ugly as well. The old one was far better. Also, I'm talking about the design of it as well, I have no idea what it would actually be like to own or drive one. |
Well that's the thing you see, you need to take ownership into account.
I nearly bought this very car once, but I let it go because parts are hard to get for them these days and you literally need to work day in day out just to keep the evil rust at bay, the MK2 Cavalier practically killed itself because of how rust prone it was which is why they are quite rare now. http://globalcarbrands.com/i/vauxhal...ertible-01.jpg |
I drive a 2004 Honda Pilot. It's in very good shape, has under 100,000 miles, and I like it.

I wonder why a lot of (but not all) small electric cars have to look like oversized toys. I prefer things to be practical rather than look good, but come on - There doesn't seem to be a reason for them to look that way, other than that the designer couldn't be bothered.
Then again, same could be said for a lot of new cars these days. I agree that many electric cars seem gimmicky when other compact cars do the same job much more efficiently, like the VW Up!. @JG - After my dad ditched the stupid blue Allegro Estate I mentioned back in '11 in the other thread, he was the fourth owner of a Cavalier Mk 2 estate. Was gold, like this one - It lasted him 6 years, and was still going strong when he sold it after he became too ill to drive. E: This was back in the mid '90s though, I suppose ancient cars like this would be rustbuckets now. ![]() One of the old people I do gardening for has this Cavalier Mk 1 GLS Sportshatch that's been rusting away in a barn for 20 years which used to belong to his parents. I'm wondering if it's worth anything other than scrap value: http://www.oddworldforums.net/attach...1&d=1397063441 (Not the above car, but it looks like this from the front) http://globalcarbrands.com/i/vauxhal...s-coupe-10.jpg |

http://i62.tinypic.com/ix9zes.jpg LOOK AT DAT ASS my god. almost everything is broken. there's a gaping hole where the radio was. wipers are kinda fucked. one of the front headlights is foggy. the radio aerial (who the fuck even uses those anymore?) was snapped off when i got it. i've only just fucking fixed the wheels up. Rusty Red. it's ironic i park my filthy car in front of a car wash. i must be trying to tell myself something. |
My grandfather used to have a MK2 Cavalier hatchback in the olive green color. Not sure what happened to it but he then got *sigh* an Austin Montego Estate
I've always adored cavaliers and have many times considered buying a MK3 hatchback since now you can get a decent one dirt cheap. |
I've got a shitty old Peugeot that is rapidly degrading. I now have to lock each door manually and individually, some with the key, some with the latch. And if I do it in the wrong order, they all unlock and I have to start over.
|
I'm currently riding with a DS3 looking a lot like the one in those pictures, except the side mirrors are the same color as the roof:
Yay for company cars. :) |
I can't drive.
|
I hate DS3's, really hate DS3's, my girlfriend's dad has one and he hates it so much that he went and bought a Ford Mondeo and now the DS3 has been sat on the driveway for months doing nothing, it's been sat there so long that when he tried to start it the other day the battery was flat.
|
Care to explain why you "hate" it? I'm quite happy with it and I fail to see how you can "hate" it. Or do you simply hate it because your girlfriend's dad hates it? Also, why didn't he try to re-sell it if he wasn't going to use it anyway?
|
I've never liked them, I think they are one of the ugliest cars out there and they are terribly cramped inside and just feel bland to drive. And he is getting rid of the DS3 soon, and the Mondeo since it's on it's last legs, he wants to get rid of them both and buy another Mondeo.
|
Heh, I guess tastes differ.
