New 'N Tasty Price?

So I'd like to make sure I have enough money to get this game on launch day, Whenever that day is sometime this spring. I've looked, even on the official page, I can't find a release price. I was wondering if anyone knew how much it'd cost, or could at least ballpark it so I have a basic goal, as money is very difficult for me to come by.

No announcements have been made yet. We don't even have a firm release date. I'm sure JAW will put out that information well in advance of the game going on sale, so you needn't worry.

Alright, thanks for telling me. Also, thanks for moving this; sometimes I have trouble figuring out where to post what.

Crashpunk 01-07-2014 07:43 AM

My guess will be around £6.99. The standard prices for Indie titles.

I cannot imagine it being any more than £20.

DarkHoodness 01-07-2014 08:25 AM

My guess would be between £12-£20, since The Swapper and Spelunky are each priced at £12 when not on sale. And on the higher end of the scale, Prison Architect, Kerbal Space Program and Spacebase DF-9 are normally priced at £20.

I'd say that's a reasonable price for those games (With the possible exception of Spacebase, it ought to be cheaper) - Although IMO if they priced N'n'T at £20, that'd probably be a hard sell to most people since it's a linear single player experience rather than a flexible, slowly evolving one like most of the above games offer.

(although I'd pay a AAA price for N'n'T on release, even though I normally wait for new games to be on sale - but then I'm a big OW fan and this game means a lot to me personally)

I wouldn't honestly pay more than £20 for it. I seem to remember AO being something along the lines of either £19.99 or £29.99 when it was new, and if it's the former, it'd be weird to pay the same price after all that gas about how they make as much money through indie sales at like, $10 than they did with a publisher at $40. Any other platformer and I wouldn't even pay £20, but NnT is a special case I suppose.

Jordan 01-07-2014 09:42 AM

I can't see it being more than £20 to be honest. I would pay £40 if I had to though :p

OANST 01-07-2014 10:34 AM

I intend to pay with rubber bands, and marbles.

Mr. Bungle 01-07-2014 11:05 AM

Guessing about 10 bucks on the XBLA, considering the prices of games like Super Meat Boy, Braid, Limbo, etc.

Wasn't Abe's Oddysee considered a AAA title back then?

Varrok 01-07-2014 11:47 AM

It was. Also, the games were cheaper in general back then.

It wont be coming out for Xbox. I wish I could get it for PC on release day, but sadly it's not getting released for PC until some time after it's released on Sony consoles. I'm guessing off of all I've seen is that N'n'T will be be $15/20 Pounds. (No, that is not based off of the exchange rate.)

Manco 01-07-2014 03:57 PM

I’d put it in the upper price bracket of indie games, like the games DarkHoodness mentioned.

Low-priced games like Super Meat Boy tend to be priced that way because they’re relatively short and simple, and thus needed less development invested in them. But JAW has become a fairly large team now, and the game itself looks to have high production values for an indie title.

Nepsotic 01-07-2014 06:24 PM

I'm pretty pissed it's not going to be on Xbox, I doubt my PC will be able to handle it.
I'll just get it when it's in one of the sales.

MA 01-07-2014 07:27 PM

dammit, i fucking hate Xbox. i'll grab it for the PC anyhow.

SpAM_CAN 01-08-2014 06:27 AM

It'll likely be £12 or so, probably with a launch discount for PS+ subscribers over on the PlayStation side of the field. I hope the PS Vita/PS3 version is Cross-buy enabled, but it wouldn't be the end of the world. I mean, I'll be buying it on both Vita and PC anyway, so I'll be paying twice regardless.

Pirfsich 01-18-2014 10:17 AM

It will definitely not be more than 30€
And I will propably buy it twice. PS3 and PC. :)

pupbenny 01-19-2014 02:39 AM

I expected £9.99 but we'll see, I suppose.

V_O_T 01-20-2014 11:43 PM

I think its going to be $14.95 imo.

It'd be awesome if they had a loyalty discount like they are having for Binding of Issac: rebirth.

But i'd rather pay full price for Abe.

That's cheaper than I thought. ;) ($14.95 = £9.10) It'd be great if it were. :)

STM 01-21-2014 11:58 AM

I love that people are stating or guessing the price when they actually have no idea how expensive it's going to be. Because you guys know what they need to charge to make a profit on their investments and so on.

Varrok 01-21-2014 12:14 PM

SHUT UP IT'LL BE FITEEN DOLLERS AND FIFTY CENTS I JUST KNOW IT

Slog Bait 01-21-2014 12:24 PM

If it's any less than $500 I will be severely disappointed smh

Varrok 01-21-2014 12:27 PM

Once again, JAW disappoints us, this time for selling the game for a low price.

Pirfsich 01-21-2014 12:59 PM

I would totally freak out if it's 19.97 €/$ .
That would be an awesome tribute to the original

Nepsotic 01-21-2014 01:05 PM

No it wouldn't, it'd be a fucking rip-off, is what it'd be.

Slog Bait 01-21-2014 01:06 PM

NO LESS THAN $500

Varrok 01-21-2014 01:42 PM

I want it to be 1997€

Crashpunk 01-21-2014 02:11 PM

$599 US DOLLARS.

DarkHoodness 01-21-2014 02:23 PM

And when you finally confront Mullock, you'll have to hit the weak spot for massive damage!
