TOGG reopening

As teased during the past few days I am glad to share with you the new incarnation of The Oddworld Graphics Gallery, also known as TOGG.

http://oddworldlibrary.net/archives/togg/

I've taken the library of 2007 and updated it with new or higher resolution pictures. I tagged almost all the pictures (I still need to do the screenshots when I can find the courage to do so) so you can search and quickly find back the pictures you are looking for.

TOGG is now based on Piwigo, an opensource photo gallery, that comes with many nice features. It allows you to view the content in slideshows, choose in which size you want to display your pictures and to keep track of the new additions via a nice RSS feed. Also it looks a lot better than the previous version of TOGG :p

I hope you'll enjoy rediscovering this collection of Oddworld Art.

Excellent! It's so much easier to navigate now

I like it.

Oddey 11-08-2013 03:26 PM

I rather like this new design. Certainly a little easier than the old one.

I'm just excited about the searchable tags. Huzzah!

Nice work, Xavier!

I'm also a big fan of piwigo.

DarkHoodness 11-09-2013 05:18 PM

That's looking very good, it's nice to give the TOGG a revisit and view the updated content with a better interface (even if it seems to be a little broken in places, but that doesn't really matter), keep up the awesome work. :)

Yeah, that took a lot of time but I think it was worth it.

Are you using it as well? Can you show me what you've done with it?

Could you please clarify what seems broken, so I can try to fix it. :p

I initially thought there wasn't a way to view larger images in their full resolution but have since discovered you can download them to do so (derp).

The other thing I noticed is just a minor bug:
When viewing a single image from an album, as well as being able to navigate from the side menu, apparently you can also click different parts of the viewed image to navigate through the album, but no arrows/navigation buttons appear when you hover your mouse over the image - Only tooltips.

Scrabaniac 11-12-2013 03:17 PM

Looking through the screenshots, is the air vent section still in the game? That was such a cool concept!

It's not a bug, it works as designed ;)

Which images are you referring to?

Oh wow, the site looks way better now!

The RuptureFarms screenshot where Abe is standing infront of the status board, there is the air vent he climbs up and rolls through in the pre alpha footage

Hi Xav, here's a question for you: what is the Pound Dog?

Xavier 11-22-2013 01:37 AM

This was a project OWI started because they believed it would be easier to get a deal for a CG movie with "cute" dogs and aimed at a younger audience then the for the dark themed Oddworld or Citizen Siege movies.

The idea was to use the Pound Dogs franchise to get into the movie business and get some experience and recognition before trying anything as risky as Oddworld or CS.

... and then??

Xavier 11-23-2013 03:41 AM

No idea what they want to do with the project now but as far as I know no parnership has been announced to create that movie.

Thank you very much for this information Xav :)

Bullet Magnet 11-26-2013 10:47 PM

I don't think I would have been happy with the trailers and posters for the Oddworld film having "From the creators of Pound Dog" all over them.

Xavier 11-27-2013 04:33 AM

Well, at least it would have been made... try to look at it that way.

Plus the "experience and recognition" part was more to land the deal rather than to promote the movie.
