vBulletin update
Peter finally updated the forums to vBulletin 3.8.7. A few things might have broken in the move. Please report them here. If you report a problem, please specify what theme you're using and what browser.
Anyone who objects to another person's choice of theme will receive a spam infraction. No warnings. The first few posts after this one were from the Forum Skin Project thread. They've been moved across to here for neatness' sake. |
vBulletin update
:
I think you should give up on the idea that Peter is still involved in the running of the forums. |
Didn't he just update the forum from vBulletin 3.6 to 3.8.7?
Yes, he just did.
Well, latest version of 3... I wonder if it's any easier to skin.
Oh, that's why I was logged out. Is there anything new?
The default thread symbol?

They light up if you hover over them, but my god yes well done for breaking the forum Peter.
That happened to me before, and I'm on a phone. It went back to normal after I refreshed the page.
We've lost the OWI favicon.
Also, there's a part of me that is slightly disappointed that Peter actually did the update. I was going to go through our text message history and post every single intrusive and obscene photo that I've sent him since first requesting the update in November. |
Don't worry, this version will be outdated too some day
It seems that profiles do not work. Join dates, avatars and last posts don't appear for me.
Everything works fine for me so fuck you all.
Also, the calender is still outdated. Sad times. E: OH GOD I POSTED AND NOW EVERYTHING'S FUCKED. |
What was the benefit of updating?
It proves that Alcar still has a pace in his heart for us.
Wow.
Am I missing something here or is this some clever hack?
It appears that we can add thread tags. It also appears that it may be broken on some computers.

Oh so that's what it is - Now I understand.
For the record I'm using the Native skin on Chrome. |
I'd quite like to clean up some of this mess, but Peter didn't actually finish the update. So now I can't access the admin control panel.
We're fucked without leadership! How does it feel to be slightly more equal to the unwashed masses, Nate?
I'm also using Native on Chrome and I'm getting all the same problems DH mentioned. |
Seems to be working fine for me.
Tags are missing for me on the Industrial theme.
I’m guessing tags won’t work on any theme because there was no tag sprite before vBulletin 3.8. |
Forum tags can only be seen properly and edited on firefox using the two older themes.
I'm not going to name names, but there's only one person I can think of who uses either of them. EDIT: I've done a little experimenting with the tags. It's possible for me to remove the ones in Off-Topic, because I'm a moderator there, but any user can add at least two of them. If we're to keep the tag system I suggest first mending it, then making it so only the thread starter and mods can add them, and limit it to one per thread. |
We don't like new features here at OWF
I don't like people anonymously leaving graffiti in threads. Problem?
