animal crossing series
does any one play the animal crossing series:D
|
Yep. I'm a big fan of Wild World, spending countless hours on it trying to catch all the bugs and fish. And with New Leaf coming very soon, I fear it's going to take over my life again. :)
It's a very 'Marmite' game though. You either love or hate it. I personally think it's one of the best games for escapism. |
I've never played Animal Crossing, but it sounds fun. Jbot out. Tunnel Snakes rule!
|
I played the DS version for a few months. It was fun while it lasted. then I got bored with it, put it down and never ever played it again.
The way it ranted at you if you quit without saving (say, 'cus your battery ran out) was extremely off-putting, however. |
I always thought it looked like an awful or generic game for five year-olds. I'm guessing it isn't, then?
|
It's not.
|
I'm only going off the TV adverts.
|
Yeah, you should always base your opinions on TV ads.
|
That's kind of the point. First impressions and all. Ads are supposed to make me want to buy the game.
|
forever crying because america gets new leaf a few days before the uk does
also if you didn't have a crush on any of the villagers you're a fucking liar |
Righto, I bloody loved the game on the DS. Though my brothers fucked it up and threw my time like three centuries forwards, causing my world to fall into a nuclear ice age. I had to throw on a fur hat and shovel three centuries worth of snow. Then they lost the game. Fuck them.
I personally really liked the Elephant character. ._. |
I played it once. I didn't like it but couldn't stop playing it and as a result lost several weeks of my life.
Never again. |
Wild World was fun but it always annoys me when the neighbours move out, despite the fact that you hanged out together for ages and gave them lots of presents. Another good game like that on the DS is Magician's Quest: Magical Times. Think AC meets Harry Potter. It's pretty fun and has abilities like casting spells and playing musical instruments.

:
I believe there was a weekly event on a Sunday morning that I always missed 'cus of being in church. Actually the swearing didn't bother me so much as the complete lack of punctuation. |

|
Like GTA, once you start cheating on Animal Crossing you can never go back.
Kids, it's not worth it. |
:
Having said that, I like auto weed-removal and the ability to change my neighbours. Why do they always frigging move?! I need to make them have a mortgage or something so they don't just leave when they feel like it. |
So are we going to start swapping friend codes or what?
I have pears. Who wants pears? |
Good plan. How do you actually see your code?
|
Oh dear. I hate you all for making me actually consider purchasing Animal Crossing like it might be a good idea.
Good thing I don't have a 3DS. |
I traded mine in; can't remember what I got in return... (and I'm going to spend far too long wondering about it).
|
Yeah, me too. All I had on it was Ocarina of Time 3D and Pokemon White and after a while they got really, really boring.
I kind of want one again though, mainly for this new Animal Crossing. |
If your thinking about re-buying, I recommend getting a 3DS XL. It has better battery life and the bigger screen makes the 3D more impressive. The only reason why I don't have one is because I still have my original.
|
So is anyone here playing New Leaf? I started a few days ago, gonna expand my house tomorrow and probably heading off to Tortimer's island for the first time as well tomorrow.
|
Playing it as a daily routine. I'm currently gathering up Bells to buy tons of new stuff for my town.
|
i've heard people pour fucking millions of hours into these games just so someone can come along and delete it. sounds funny.
|
I visited the island today and got myself around 35k bells. Gotta visit it more often. Also some dumb looking koala moved into my town and the fucker said it wasn't a good time to visit him when I just came to say hello and welcome him to my town. I'm going to make sure he's evicted by next week.
|
There's a very simple trick to making a lot of money very efficiently via fishing.
Go to the beach, comb it for a shark fin. If you don't see one, pause and save and continue. That will reset the fish spawns and greatly increase the chance of a new shark spawning. You can sell normal sharks for 15K bells, and the other kinds for about 8K. |
So no one's talking about this game? I just built a café in my town and Tommy and Timmy's store was upgraded yesterday to the Super T&T. I also won the bug-off contest last Saturday. The game is still after nearly a month pretty addicting as is definitely a small part of my every day routine.
|
I was meaning to post an update. My town is going great. I've built a Cafe, The reset center (don't really know what it does) and I'm currently saving up enough to buy a new house expansion and a Water well. Going to the island and farming rare bugs is probably the best way to earn money.
So i'm still hooked. I usually play it on the bus to work. :) |
