Xbox One
Xbox One is being revealed right now. Comes with Kinect, three OS', new d-pad, Xbox One can stream shit to tablets/phones, picture on picture type feature, ie look at a Youtube guide while playing a game. No games yet.

xbox has no games
yet |
All the "gameplay footage" looks so much like CG. It's hard to believe they aren't trying to fool us.
They showed EA sports games, Forza 5, and Quantum Break-new game from Remedy. They have more games in development now than ever before. 15 exclusives published in the first year of Xbox One, 8 of them new IPs. |
Remedy's new game seems like an interesting concept (even though I was hoping for Alan Wake 2) and the new Kinect actually looked like it works. Gotta wait for E3 to see some proper games.
The new controller looks pretty awesome. http://i.imgur.com/6lbrIwc.png |
Everything about the entire event was ridiculous.
Unless you like watching sports TV, I guess. |
Brief summary of the conference before the reveal:
EA Sports EA Sports EA Sports Oh hey this is the box. See? Cool, now Call of Duty. Call of Duty. Has a lot of dogs now. We also added AI to it. We also added dogs. It'll be the best Call of Duty ever, and the best Call of Duty we ever made, and the best Call of Duty ever. Oh, and we put dogs in it. Thanks for coming guys, bye. *conference over* |
I only saw CG footage in the few minutes I watched.
|
Seemed like a waste of time, also there was a lack of any sort of giant enemy crabs.
|
My favorite thing was that the very first developer they called to the stage was an EA rep.
and they played the EA Sports sting as he walked onstage Also http://i.imgur.com/p1bxgQt.png |
Why in seven bloody hells are they calling it Xbox One?

The cuntery of big business continues. SMD, Microsoft, SMD.

PC it is.
|
Really, really pissed off about the arcade/downloaded games not carrying over thing. Seriously, Microsoft? That deflated my hype a lot. A lot.
|
Nothing like a good laugh to cheer yourself up.
|
Please excuse me if I decide to stick with Sony this round.
|
Why is this new Xbox so damn ugly? The pad looks fine, I guess, but the console itself looks like it was made from junk parts
EDIT: Just take a look at it: http://stupiddope.com/wp-content/upl...30201710_n.jpg my old VCR looks more modern than this |
It actually looks almost exactly like this old German stereo player my dad had about 20 years ago. Going for the retro feel MS?
|
Just seems like a fad to me really. It's not focused on what it's supposed to do...play bloody games. I have a laptop for Skype and browsing the internet and I can make calls on my phone if I need to. I want an Xbox (lol) because I want to play games. Also I love that they showcased so many titles from a company voted the worst in the world two years running. Yeah, fuck you EAsoft.
|
Looks like a perfectly fine console, I'll wait to see what the launch titles are.
|
If you post that Sony stock image you are a simpleton and likely a Sony shill. Look at the time frames of the actual conference and the Sony stock.
"It has no games!" More games are in development for it than in Xbox history, 15 exclusives in the first year. "It blocks used games!" 90% of PS4 used games will also be blocked. "It's not backwards compatible!" Neither is PS4, but it's still shitty. MS peeps were talking up games being at E3 before the reveal for days, so its clear they're saving their big guns till then. |
I really like the controller, but it doesn't exactly sell the console for me.
I don't know, I'm becoming less and less interested in consoles, especially when they have irritating features such as having to pay extra for second hand games. Yes, I understand it's already gone that way with most PC games, but PC games are a lot cheaper anyway so it doesn't make a difference. Console games however are usually £40-£50 new (may be even higher in the new generation), and eliminating the ability to get cheap second hand versions is absolute bullshit. |

Some of you will probably hate me for saying this but I'm not at all surprised that it was Microsoft that decided to refrain from producing a more traditional gaming console in favor of, essentially, a souped-up iPhone with sharper edges and a controller. I may really be quick in such judgements but it seems inevitable that certain big-name companies in the gaming industry deviate from what they set out to do to satisfy the masses. And no, I'm not in support of Sony either, but in all honesty the PS4 will likely enjoy far more popularity in the current gaming community. Sort of like the PS3 did this generation.
|
I'll reserve judgement until E3, but that's only like three weeks from now...they couldn't have shown a few teaser trailers today?
|
That spike in the Sony shares is actually hugely interesting, Microsoft or Xbox if it's an actual subsidiary of Microsoft (I don't know if it is or not) are going to be financially damaged from that and in my eyes. If the market speculates that the Xbox One is going to be that bad...they are going to potentially run into a lot of trouble when it comes to release.
|
No backwards compatibility, and Microsoft having created an atmosphere of distrust and chaos in the platform they made blow up (downloadable games) means I won't buy. I doubt we're getting another Braid, or N+, or Super Meat Boy out of their consoles. No one wants to pay $40,000.00 to patch a game if they don't have to.
